He also played 37 minutes. And the first break after that sequence I watched him by the bench leaning over with his hands on his sides. Dude was tired. So the short shots make sense. His stamina will only improve from this point forward.
i think his short shots come from him not getting enough lift on his jumpers. needs to elevate more. it will come. the form looks good and the release is quick enough and he has great footwork. that shot is gonna be a massive weapon for him given his ability to finish already.
I think if Ant shows that him and Dame can't be better or at least equal to the sum of their parts on offense and play decent defense then he'll be gone at the deadline. That's as long as he looks great when Dame is sitting as a PG and Sharpe or Hart seem better suited next to Dame at SG and we can get a SF that makes sense in return. So fuck yeah... with a lot of ifs.
I’m down with exploring trade ideas for Ant & Little to get Sharpe more playing time. It’s probably going to happen eventually anyway.
Are people really saying to trade a guy to open up a STARTING spot to a person who has only played preseason games? Thats funny as fuck.
I think there are a lot of ifs in the idea and we know that we have until January to see how all of those ifs play out. If Dame and Ant suck on defense together then Ant should be moved. If Dame and Ant take turns on offense instead of having some synergy then Ant should be moved. If Shaedon is just flat out better than Ant at SG then Ant should be moved... and that's the only way I see Shaedon starting. I think more likely if Ant and Dame aren't a great combo then you move Ant to upgrade at forward and plug in Hart at SG with Shaedon getting a bunch of PT behind him if he earns it. I think a lot of people are rightfully excited by what they've seen out of Sharpe. Yeah they've only been flashes of brilliance but wow were they bright. The dude is super talented, super skilled, seems to have a great motor and has the perfect frame to play SG. If you were going to start him at SF you wouldn't likely want him to do so with a back court as small as Dame and Ant.
Well.... right now the SF position is a net negative, so I'd rather roll the dice on starting Sharpe and having him blow up into a star. You move Hart/Ant/whatever for a small forward. Go after OG. Dame Sharpe OG Grant Nurk That's a WAY more balanced starting lineup than Dame/Ant/Hart/Grant/Nurk Sharpe has shown some real chops on defense. More than Ant has ever shown.
Simons is 23. That's crazy. Let Simons start at point guard for at least half a season before we think of trading him.
In May, Sharpe turned 19 years and and in June, Simons turned 23 years old. The return on any trade of Anfernee Simons, who of course could play alongside Sharpe for many many years, better make the Blazers a clear championship contender, otherwise it would be a fucking joke.
its just that Ant wont start at PG, unless Dame is traded. But now i realize you might have meant SG?
