This dude looks like a superstar to me. I remember Dame saying a few years ago he saw himself passing his mantle to Ant one day, I think it will be Sharpe.
I love Dame but he hasn’t looked good under Chauncey, injury or no injury. If Ant/Sharpe works I’m all for it. Reset the clock.
I'll give you 5:1 odds on any bet that Sharpe is not our 2nd best player (we can agree upon the metric to decide this) & we make the playoffs.
Careful though. That's what Kings fans were saying at the start of the 07-08 season and they haven't seen the playoffs since!
Per 36 is useless unless you have guardrails. If Sharpe is only playing 5 minutes per game in garbage time, his per-36 could look like he is easily the best player on the team.
I’m not even going to entertain you comparing the Blazers to the Kings LOL. But that’s also a fair point I guess. Everyone here talking about literally tanking the entire season for a 14% chance of Wemby. I’d be happy to be around 8-10 after a late tank-job and selecting Dereck Lively. I feel like your Kings take is a lot more plausible if we traded all the vets and are left losing out on #1. The Kings have never had talent like us imo, even right now. Here’s to hoping the Kings make the playoffs in 2023
Let's make it something fun! If we use per/36 we'd need to clarify some things: Minimum games and minutes per game. And using what stat(s)? Are they all weighted equally? I think using one of the following would be cleaner: http://nbashotcharts.com/rapm?id=-2146555570 BPM https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2021_advanced.html
Which is why it’s paramount that you don’t just trade Dame to trade him. If you trade Dame just to move in a different direction, you’re just showing Sharpe at an early age to only care about himself cause that’s what loyalty’s gonna get you.
let me digest that this weekend. Cant focus on the numbers at work and my next two evenings are booked up. But Saturday i promise to revisit this and im sure we can agree on a set of metrics. I have an idea for a bet though. Winner gets treated to the last game of the season from the loser.
And Simons was #1 in the NBA in catch-and-shoot 3-point percentage. That would be a very good complement to Shaedon Sharpe's game.
