Was one of those people but that was before I saw him play (defense especially).

It's clear that we're in trouble with Grant. He got blocked at the rim by a rookie SF.

Gonna be fun to see him match up against Jalen Green 4 times a year, and in the playoffs potentially down the line.

This rookie small forward will be the second best player on our squad by seasons end. Mark it. Rookie of the year.

Hell, I thought that was Winslow.
Glad to see the rook challenge him during a scrimmage.
    Love his silent confidence.

Yeah, his D is why he might be on the floor. I'm so scarred by Stotts and his inability to use young players and letting them learn on the floor (aside from Dame) that I just am not expecting to see a ton of him. Once the offensive side of the floor slows down for him, he's going to be legit.

With GPII injured he should be getting minutes to start the season. I hope Chauncey doesn't play Keon over him.

I just don't see him getting enough minutes to be ROTY this year. He'll get more minutes than we thought, but not starter minutes, which is what it takes likely. But he could easily be the best player from his draft class within three or four years.

He is gonna win those minutes and will be our starting 2 or 3 by the time we enter the playoffs.
    Unless Billups goes full Stotts.
    Never go full Stotts.

I have a feeling Cronin instructed Chauncey to give Hart and Keon playing time to increase their trade value because they are not in the team's long-term plan.

I do root for the team to do well so I want them to play well but I prefer GP2 and Sharpe over Keon but I feel we are showcasing Hart and Keon as they are prime candidate for any sort of consolidation trade to balance the roster

Your comparing Dame and Ant's past performances to their future contracts.

Dame should be getting worse each year, peak basketball performance is normally in the 26-28 age range, Dame will be what 37 when his contract ends? Simons performance should be going up. If Simons doesn't significantly improve he's just an irrelevant role player on a terrible overpaid contract.

In terms of who can be a key part of a title; the most likely answer is probably neither. Second most likely answer is probably Simons improving in a few years, to where his value greatly exceeds his contract. The chance of Dame's value exceeding his contract in a way that enables a team to build a contender are him is much less likely.

I guess it comes down to your risk appetite. If you want the more certain chance to be a mediocre team Dame probably fits that role. If you want increased upside to gamble at being a contender one day but are willing to take the risk of having an overpaid role player as you say then Simons is the better choice.

Keon's offense is challenged at this point. Sharpe's game will be ready for primetime once he stops over thinking, and just does was God gifted him to do. Nothing against Keon, but Sharpe's game is on another level.

Take a look at the last 3 or 4 Champions and Conference champions. I would would venture to say that none of them would have won without stars over 30 on the teams. Dame, imo has 3-5 good star caliber years left.
