If the GOP hadn't made abortion such a huge topic right before the midterms, they might have had a chance.

this has nothing to do with Drazan or the GOP. the reason this was even close was because yet again, a third party candidate who has no shot of winning takes up nearly 10% of the vote inconsequentially.

If we had rank order voting, I'm all for as many candidates as you want. But with our current status of winner take all, third party candidates will forever confuse me.

It is going to be interesting to see how long before the court case ties this up and what the outcome will be. My guess is this will end up at the supreme court level.

Because Kotek is a shit candidate. Most democrats I have spoken to think she's a shit candidate. I don't know anyone who is actually excited about her as Governor. But once again the Dems can pretty much trot out someone with a pulse and still win.

    get fucking pepper spray.

speaking as someone who was literally in a public shooting event, this was such an easy yes vote for me in that measure.

All that money spent on Drazan and Betsy and still lost. Lesson learned, don’t waste your money

that's what it said on the voters' pamphlet too. but the wording was a full throated rebuke of slavery. that that many people ignored it is honestly disappointing to me.

If you're in prison, you're there to serve your debt to society. You should have to contribute in some fashion. Like a household.

Prisons are able to profit off of free or severely underpaid labor. It would sure give private prisons and those that profit from them a reason to continue to incarcerate people for small crimes.

Yeah, I knew Betsy wouldn't be able to leach enough votes (the only reason it was close at all.) A Republican candidate for governor couldn't stand on their own in Oregon, especially in the current climate.

...as far as I could tell, all of the prison labor programs are already 100% voluntary :dunno:

They're fucking guns, it's not like it's food or shelter. Buy a fucking taser if you need to collect weapons in a hurry. Or maybe throwing stars or numb-chucks, in case the Redcoats attack.

I dont know if that's true or not, but now the constitution makes sure it stays that way.
