RIP to a real one. At least Lanny got to watch the beginnings of a new exciting era for Blazers basketball. He will be missed in these parts, bigly.
An amazing guy. We are all better off by knowing him (at least virtually, if not in person)! RIP Lanny.
By the way, if you search Lanny's last post (in this forum, not the OT) it is a little prophetic, heartwarming and heartbreaking; all in one.
I was thinking about that as well....I hope he passed in his sleep...that's my wish when my time comes
Never met him, but I noticed he showed interest in my posts abot Ukraine and was very supportive of Ukraine, so I will miss him....
I really hope Lanny's wife is doing as well as possible. In one of his last posts he wrote about how he was worried about her being without him after them having each other for so long. Lanny was already a legend when I started posting on OLive decades ago, he had also already run into some health problems. I'm really sad that everyone who got to experience his brilliant personality has to be without him now but I'm also a little relieved that he can stop suffering both from the health problems and the stress that they obviously caused him. That being said, it's a sad day to be a Blazers fan, we lost one of if not the best of us.
Oh man. RIP Lanny. He was the spirit of the board. I liked him a lot and he even chewed me out a couple times
R.I.P. Lanny (#SmartassBlazersfan) Gin wrote this as a tribute to her father. It seems fitting here. Retire Lanny's number to the rafters!
Rest in Peace, Lanny. You'll be missed. Your good deeds and compassion will live on. Thoughts are with your wife and family.
Sucks to hear, even if always was a thorn in my side in the OT section trying to refute everything I said, but sounds like he had been hurting for a LONG time and hopefully he's in peace now. Please let us know if there is a way to collect some $ to buy his wife some meals or something to help out. He obviously made a big impact here and it would be nice to let his wife know he will be missed.
