Sucks when he was playing so well. A fifth finger is going to heal faster than a thumb. With the thumb, you can't use the hand at all.
This isn't the news I wanted to hear, but it also doesn't sound like too big of a deal. Probably thr kind of minor injury people tape up and play with all the time. I do like that we are being cautious as a team though in regards to injuries this season. We are deep enough to take care of our people.
At this stage Shaedon is not indispensable in the lineup. Don't take a chance on making it worse, and let next man up get some court time.
Tape it....I broke my pinky on shooting hand while playing city league and it worked to tape it to next finger.
I just assume tomorrow it will be microfracture then the next day amputation. Does he need to see another doctor for medical retirement? Do the Blazers get cap relief? Well at least we had a promising generational rookie for 10 games. I guess we're good for another 15 years. When do we start the Shaedon Blazers career appreciation thread?
Shaedon said he didn’t notice his extreme vertical leaping ability until after he recovered from his broken leg in HS. So who knows what a broken finger will do for him!
I believe in our new training and support staff.....if any of our up and coming stars gets dinged, they park him and fix it. This is a great model for getting to the playoffs healthy and in game shape.
The kid will still be able to work on his left hand shooting and handles. He's 19, he'll probably heal really fast....he might learn to not smack the rim so hard in the future though.
