I remember when calling someone "trash" was very offensive. Now it is so common. It makes me feel a little uncomfortable when I hear it. Can we stop using that term?

"I want to offend as many people as possible but people are standing up for themselves. They suck"

That is what you're saying, just so you know.

theres difference in insulting someone and when someone finds something as an insult

if i say to someone: "fuck you", thats an insult, but if i say: "that was retarded thing to do", someone might find it insulting

obviously, when you insult someone, you should be prepared for consequences, but i dont think you should be in trouble if you say something and someone finds it as an insult and nowadays, people find everything as an insult

God forbid people get offended hearing you use an offensive term or slur. Especially when using that slur that could pertain to others as an insult about someone else. But why can't YOU be able to say what you want, everyone else be damned?!?!
I mean, seriously, why does it upset you that you can't call someone retarded? Seriously? Maybe err on the side of being a decent human being instead of a piece of shit. It's really not that hard to do.

Because he lacks empathy. There really isn't another possibility.

lack of empathy with words, maybe, but if you think when i see someone beaten up, raped, sick or killed and i dont give a fuck about it, then thats not it

I respect that. And I'm honestly not trying to dump on you. But, it seems like you place a much higher emphasis on physical over mental. And I can see that too. But, one cannot simply ignore mental and emotional pain and suffering. They are equally important. Just mt two cents. Like I said, I'm trying not to just go full blast mode here. You just seem kind of emotionally calloused.

I don't like the attitude people have of acting like a sissy whenever someone does or says something inappropriate. Yes, everybody knows saying that word on national television is a bad idea, but saying stuff like "it says a lot about you" if you don't care, if you equate with PC culture, it's so political and artifical sounding to me. Why do people who work at Burger King police their speech like they're in a runoff senate election, it's so funny to me.

It's called being a decent human being. Or maybe an intelligent human being? Expand your vocabulary beyond shitty offensive slurs maybe? If you're trying to call someone out and need to use words like retard, or sissy, I'd say it does, "say a lot about you". Nobody is sitting here clutching their pearls over it. Just language that is completely unnecessary to use.

It's called jacking off to your own moral superiority. Everyone knows that you shouldn't say those words on national television. Somebody is bound to say "Well, thus is PC run amuck" which is wrong, but STILL, after like 6 years of this horseshit, people still need to act like they're sat at the right hand of God because they take grave offense to things and others don't. It's ridiculous to me, as someone who remembers what a conversation was like before 2016.

"It's called being a decent human being."

I hope you've got a towel like Lou at least.

Edit: Did I even say "retard" in my post? I don't use that word anymore because I work with special needs children for a living. I did before, but don't now, but not based on any stupid societal pressure. Age, maturity.

How do we quantify these things online? When people are frantically typing their I am outraged and I am crying speeches, waiting to get their likes and admiration? I can judge somebody based on how they interact with these sort of situations in real life, but I haven't read someone just be truthful (not in a right wing, tell it like it is grift way) online in years. You get it sometimes in real life, in private conversations with friends, but online? Gimmick accounts regurgitate whatever gets up votes.

Or maybe some people are actually good people in real life.

So were your pre-2016 conversations just filled with slurs, calling people retards and fags and sissies and what not and now you're bummed you can no longer do that? Sounds...fun? Nobody is taking "grave offense". But do you. You wanna use slurs and insult minorities, go for it!

No? Why do I need to represent some outdated right wing caricature for you to even engage with the point I'm making about fake moral outrage? Did every conversation you have revolve around bad words and making fun of others pre 2016? Mine didn't, they never did. But I never policed anybody for what they said about anything in day to day conversations as if I was writing press release statements for Walmart. It was more honest. I swear people nowadays have an invisible gun to their heads that will go off if they say something that you can't say on Morning Joe.

Bullshit. I've met several people from this very board that are just great people. @dviss1 , @Chris Craig , @PtldPlatypus, @SlyPokerDog are good people. Is anyone a perfect human being? Hell no. But I refuse to just give in to some mediocre nihilistic vision of humanity. As a species, we have been out of the damned stone-age for thousands of years. We can strive for some better standards. And I will never apologize for trying to be the best version of myself. If that bothers you, I suppose you can go inhale a fart somewhere. Peace.

I have no idea what this means, or why you tagged people that I have zero problem with, but I am starting to tear up, and I did give you a like, so it surely must be powerful.
