CJ has been in a bad slump lately (did just ok last game) and can't be happy with his own performance. His role on the Pels is new territory for him and is still getting used to it.

What’s working is Zion and Ingram with Herb Jones and incredible roleplayers like Alvarado. CJ + Nance <<<<Grant let alone Grant + Hart.

Just a side note. If teams don't guard CJ he will flat out COOK them. This helps other players on that team no question.

in other words, if CJ doesn't get to draft off of the wake of defensive attention Dame gets, he's not as good?

Who would be? That has never been in question?
You’re better than this? Any player playing next to Dame is going to have some relief from the attention Dame gets.

apparently, I'm not "better than this"....but then I had to endure people telling me for years that CJ would be a better player with his own team, and without Dame, then he was with Dame. That he'd be an all-star with his own team one he was out from under Dame's shadow. It's still possible I suppose, but CJ is 31 and the early returns aren't positive

But still the question you asked was obvious. Even Simons gets good looks when playing with Dame.
Also it seems Dame can get some good looks now that Simons is commanding attention.

It’s simply not cut and dried CJ is better here or there. Lots of thing in the mix but you know this also. Why am I in this conversation?
    Should have left it alone.

I can do this all day bro. They are a better team since they traded for him. He is a better 3rd option they they used to have. He might be the best 3rd option in the league. They are in 1st in the west with him. You keep digging for numbers. One of their stars goes down, they slide, but what team doesn’t. The PELS love that CJ is on their roster…..accept it. Don’t understand the hate.

Ohhhhh, I didn’t realize CJ hasn’t had a positive impact on the team at all my bad.

I think they are better with CJ and Portland better with Hart and Grant. CJ has a different role than he did at Portland. As the seasoned vet, he is the team's emotional leader, as it were.

I’ll end this…. I had TWO coaches on their staff last month tell me to my face they “FUCKING LOVE THIS KID” ON and OFF the court he has made them a better team. I don’t know what more I can say. I don’t have nuclear mathematician data to share, just what his coaches say. I root for the dude.

that's fine, but you're not talking with people here unfamiliar with CJ. He played over 600 games as a Blazer and we're quite familiar with his strengths and weaknesses

Never said I was. You continue to post about how bad CJ is as a player and struggling, all I’m saying is, his new team loves him and they’re in first place. There really isn’t much more to say. Like I mentioned earlier, injuries might happen and they’ll slide, who knows. But they are good to go with him as their third option.
