Exiled chief rabbi says Jews should leave Russia while they can

Moscow’s exiled chief rabbi says Jews should leave Russia while they still can, before they are made scapegoats for the hardship caused by the war in Ukraine.

“When we look back over Russian history, whenever the political system was in danger you saw the government trying to redirect the anger and discontent of the masses towards the Jewish community,” Pinchas Goldschmidt told the Guardian. “We saw this in tsarist times and at the end of the Stalinist regime.”

“We’re seeing rising antisemitism while Russia is going back to a new kind of Soviet Union, and step by step the iron curtain is coming down again. This is why I believe the best option for Russian Jews is to leave,” he added.

Goldschmidt resigned from his post and left Russia in July after refusing to back the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

They won't negotiate on the separatist region, where over 90% voted for the president that was ousted in the 2014 us backed coup.

Part of Oregon wants to join Idaho. Should Oregon negotiate with Oregon?

First I don't know why I bother with arguing with you. Is your ignorance coming sraight from russian propaganda? My bias is that I have a Ukrianian wife and have lived in Ukraine for almost ten years. Where is your bias coming from?
Yanukukovych did not win 90% of the vote in Donbass, maybe 80% . If you look at all the territories that Putler has annexed, then it's 70%.
Would this mean that anywhere that Trump won 70% that a Trump army should be able to come in and hold a referendum to secede from USA, with soldiers at every polling place?

BTW, I gave poor example above. Possibly some Mexicans would want to be absorbed into a wealthier country but in Ukraine we have the opposite; Ukraines are better off than russians, as evidenced by the russian looting of washing machines, hot water heaters and flat screen tv's. russians should be better off with all the oil revenue but Putler and his crooked friens have stolen it all.

Ukraine didn't invade their neighbors... They are better in that respect. And that's more than enough.

This is straight from russian propaganda. Did you mean that they are returning fire against the russian armed and led socalled "separatist" armies? Ukraine has been very careful to try to hit only military targets and because their artillery is more accurate, have usually succeeded.

Can you even imagine the implications of your ideas. Soon, just one block in a city could decide to have a vote and secede? Can you imagine the chaos? What is your real agenda here?

Or perhaps when Trump won the presidency in 2016, Canada should have annexed all the northeastern states that voted Clinton, and the US should have been like "OK, they don't want to be part of this country anyway..."

Even this is wrong. Civilian suffering goes up wherever russia occupies: Bucha, Kharkiv region, Kherson region.

Just because they voted for Yanukovych, who at the time said he wanted to joint the EU, doesn't mean they want to be part of russia.
The opinion statistics in the Ukrainian conflict are always very interesting. The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) showed in a survey taken from 29 April to 11 May 2014 that only 23% of the people in Donbass supported joining Russia ,
    [1]
while another poll from september that year says 17%

You mean besides having a better army, much less corruption, a higher quuality of life, and they don't feel the need to imprison political opposition, imprison protesters, and assassinate opponents all over the world?

The fun part about Russian soldiers in Moldova is they've been there since 1992. Russia started moving west and then, for some reason NATO become popular with our former colonies.

Earlier this year Russia decides to invade a sovereign, neighboring country. Since then this has happened.
