The GOP agenda will consist of what they perceive as revenge for Trump...and their main targets will be Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and Anthony Fauci.

...after all, according to them, that's what the American people are most concerned with.

Edit;...ooops...sorry, just noticed that someone else posted the same thing.

But they can't do anything until a speaker is chosen.

Make no mistake, McCarthy will in fact be elected but will be weakened by all the fellating he's been doing in order to get elected. We can get used to seeing a lot of Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan.

George Santos flashes the white power symbol while voting for McCarthy on the house floor.

My best guess, McCarthy will grovel until he has one more vote than Jeffries. Then change rules so speaker can be elected with plurality instead of majority.

Interesting article that points out that some of McCarthy's concessions will benefit the Democrats, especially the AOC faction. Representatives on both sides of the aisle will get quite a bit more input and involvement that Gingrich took away 30 years ago, and on which Pelosi has been doubling down on ever since she became speaker. In other words, representatives will actually be more than an army of empty suits whose only job is to keep their mouths shut and vote the party line. Should be interesting if it all comes to pass. The dinosaurs of both parties have had far too much power for far too long......

Just because he makes promises, doesn't mean he has to keep them once he gets what he wants.

Part of the deal he made was agreeing not to raise debt ceiling. They demand instead deep cuts like eliminating social security and Medicare, huge federal layoffs, things Senate won't agree to. Go into default, crash world economy but hey, they owned the libs!

None of that will pass the Senate. The only ones they owned are themselves.

Fuck'em. Just forget the debt ceiling and keep paying what's needed. Let it go to the supreme court. Let the supreme court vote to shut down and undermine their agenda.

Never happen. They'll uphold the government spending and the debt ceiling fiasco will be a thing of the past.

So how will all this change my life. Honestly? I couldn't tell you how the last vote went down or even who won. Please tell me how this will affect/effect my daily life? Higher gas prices? Less toilet paper on the shelves?
