This is a ridiculous question. Tyus Jones, Brandon Clarke, Xavier Tillman and Ziaire Williams were all major contributors for them last season and three of those guys were major contributors the season before that. Also that bench is balanced with guards, wings and bigs.
Don't forget Danny Green when he gets healthy. The Grizzlies, and I am jealous tbh lol, are a way better position squad wise than we are.
You had the "likely" modifying "be able to identify" not "be better". And the thing is, those guys had never coached at the NBA level nor were they "name" players or successful college coaches. So what are you basing your info on? That's like drafting a player whom you've only seen in workouts. Will Hardy was promoted because he was the head assistant. Utah got lucky (or maybe unlucky - maybe they were hoping he would be shit so they could really tank). Our head assistant is Scott Brooks. I would rather take a chance on a G-League coach than have another retread like Scott Brooks.
Over time coaching makes some difference while the right GM can make a huge difference. I find it funny that the same fans always want to fire the coach when it's the talent that matters... every time. STOMP
Only one I got sick of was Nate. I knew the days were numbered for the rest, but I didn't have much confidence we'd get an improvement except over Cheeks. He was not a good coach. At all. Nice guy though.
I agree with all of this. I'd add PJ in the same category as Cheeks, at least that's what I thought then. Now that I look back at it, I may have been wrong about PJ being a bad NBA coach.
