I have no idea how this will turn out or what it will show. I just thought I'd mess around and compare Sharpe's rookie season to other player's rookie seasons:

(Klay was nearly 3 years older, played 3 seasons in the Pac-12, and started 29 games)

I'm not sure there's any significant take from any of that. A lot of rookies struggle because of youth and inexperience; and Sharpe is younger than almost all rookies who have entered the NBA in the one-&-done era, and had less experience than almost all

Sharpe needs to improve in a lot of areas. He especially needs to learn how to draw fouls because his FT rate is anemic

I want to see how he does in SL. That’s where young guys can show if they’re capable of dominating as the number one option. Obviously SL isn’t the end all but it’s still a bit of a litmus test.

All Kobe did in his rookie season was dunks lol. Dude Sharpe got flashes of being a 3 level scorer. He just isn’t able to get in a rhythm like Simons, dame, and Grant can. Also his defense have come a long way since the beginning of the year

Dude... he's a 19 year old rookie who hadn't played in over a year. I don't know what you expected from him. He's a project.

The kid shows flashes! I'm not some sunshine and rainbows fan, I like to think I can see players for who they are, and this kid has a chance to be special. The question is can he put it altogether to be great or will he end up just another good NBA player. I think too many of us take for granted how hard it is to make that jump from good to great!

Sharpe is going to put it together, I truly believe that. The question is, will he do it during Dame's Time or after? Also, do we want to pair him with Ant or do we trade Ant + ? to get a SF and put either GPII or Hart next to Lillard to start. I don't think Sharpe is ready to start unless we've given up on the season in which case, definitely start Sharpe and give him all the touches you can.

Horrible take. This is the most talented kid we've drafted since Dame.

A 19 y/o kid getting playing time in an NBA team trying to win has good work ethic.

I'm comfortable with waiting. We knew the risks when we drafted him. The options were take a flyer on Sharpe or go get someone like Sochan who is going to be nothing more than a role player his entire career.
