The Jan 22 Laker game exemplifies the effect of corrupt Referees on the Blazers on the home court. Adding up the incorrect calls + nocalls and the timing of the corrupt calls changed the outcome from a W to a L.

There were swish3s made taken away from Dame, fouls of Dame driving to the basket, fouls of Dame dribbling behind the arc, fouls of Grant, fouls of Driew, fouls of Nas, fouls of Josh, fouls of Simons, and fouls of Nurk that were not called. No wonder Laker defense intensity was greatly higher the 2nd half!

And there were ticky-tack fouls called against Dame and the front court that limited 3rd and 4th Q Blazer defense intensity. And there were blocking fouls called that were actually Lebron charges.

This pattern of Referee hostility to the Blazers on the Blazers home court is is strong contrast to the home court advantage usually (for example, Denver Nuggets) noticeable when the Blazers are on the road. This home court Disadvantage is a major problem that needs to be remedied to provide at least a fair shake on the home court!

The quality of NBA professionalism is severely degraded by the obvious bias and effect on outcomes that the corrupt Referees are imposing to spoil the games, adversely affecting the audience size for the games, and leading to manipulated outcomes.

The Blazer Front Office should take action to correct this situation, or the Blazers will not have a realistic chance to compete in even the regular season games or the playoff games. It is time to ask for review and accountability of the Officiating by the NBA National Office.

I didn't watch the game, I was flying home from Vegas, but I totally agree with this!

    The refs are trash!

    Lol. It's just a game.

And even so, a 25 point lead was lost. That isn't because of the refs. Thats the end of the argument lol.

A post like this is created every time the Blazers lose to the Lakers. There are bad calls throughout the NBA every night. Very rarely does it actually impact who wins....that is up to the players on the court.

No, they don't. They don't want Portland to exist.

Swish, we all love you but this is silly. Now if you want to talk about 2000 WCF game 7 4th Q that's another topic.....

I strongly disagree with Stren and Homer. Refs do determine game outcomes. When the Blazers are handcuffed by getting touch fouls and reversed charging/blocking foul calls, and the opponent Lakers (or Magic) are allowed hacks, holding, pushing, head hits, and football blocks in contrast, the game is highly biased against the Blazers. Unless this need for consistent Referee calls is not addressed, the Blazers have no chance on their home court. This situation is a major negdative factor for the entire NBA, not just for Portland.

Can the Lakers win in Portland if the game is called consistently? In my opinion, no.

I think swish3 did a good job explaining how the refs turned the game in favor of Lakers. Make the right calls and Lakers never go on a run.

Dame, Nurk, and co need to stop giving the refs the time of day. If a foul isn't called, get back and give it to the opponent on the other end and get a stop. Stopping to argue with the refs who aren't going to change their minds just gives opponents free fast break points.

Dame, Nurk, and other players seen ti be the only voices being raised against the corrupt officiating that can and on the Blazer home court does determine the outcome of games.

The voices of the Front Office, the announcers, and fans need to come on strong in demanding professional, consistent refereeing in Portland!

If we don't have a fair shake on the home court, there is little or no chance for the Blazers to win multiple rounds in the Playoffs.

Or they could make some shots in the first 10 mins of the 1st & 3rd quarter? Recipe for success!

Personally I think the answer is more swish3's out of the players ... that's the way to combat this rampant issue of the Blazers getting screwed by the refs on their own home court

Swish3 consistency has been a big downfall. I too agree that if we had more swish3’s we would be having no worries.

They should be used to it by now. We have always been shat on by the refs in Portland. This dates back decades.

    Saying this for years
I don't think the Blazers get the benefit of calls I see a lot of other teams and players get, for whatever reason. TBH, if you think you've been seeing this go on consistently for years, the reasons for it to be happening are narrowed considerably.

The Laker game the other night wasn't one of the most egregious examples of this. There were a couple of very questionable calls -- one where Sharpe was bumped off his drive by a moving defender, another where LeBron drove at Nurk who wasn't trying to stop him but also wasn't moving, another later in the game when I recall one of our players getting knocked out of bounds and there was no call -- but the Blazers did a lot of silly things that game in terms of reaching and such. A worse example was the playoff series with the Lakers a few years ago where the Blazers got called for fouls possession after possession from the very start in several games and the game was called differently on the other end in basically every game.

There was a call in the Spurs game that was really bad, too. It might have been Josh, I can't remember for sure, but he got the ball in the dead area along the baseline and got bumped and the ball went out of bounds. There was no foul call and the ball went to the Spurs. Now, if there wasn't a turnover there, I'd probably have let it be a play-on; contact was minimal. The problem was the contact created an advantage on the play because it caused a turnover. When that happens, it has to be called. This was toward the middle of the game when it still was close.
