Same thoughts. It should be a fun week ahead though I expect very little happening with the team.

Yeh, teams may be noticing that they play just as well or better when Gobert is out and Reid starts.

Reid's price may have already been up

I just think the days of paint-locked C's are done. The meteor of the three-ball slammed into the NBA earth and the lumbering dinosaur big men are going extinct

from what I've seen (granted, it's been a limited view) Reid is very mobile for a big. He can defend on the perimeter, be flexible in the PnR, yet has enough mass & length to be effective in the paint and on the boards.

Reid and Eubanks are making 1.9M. Vanderbilt is making 4.7M; Mike Muscala is making 3.5M, and so is Boban; Drummond 3.2M; Montrazel Harrell 2.5M; Hernangomez 2.5M; JaVale McGee 5.5M; Zach Collins 7.4M; Hartenstein 7.8M; Looney 8M

meanwhile Gobert is making 42M/year; Porzingis 35M/year; KAT's extension will be 55M/year; Nurkic 18M/year

I just think the cost/benefit of paying C's more than the MLE-->12M doesn't pay off very often

I agree. I have always like the idea of having a committee of centers that are cheap but bring different skill set to the game. I rather have that than having a Nurk who’s inconsistent and injury prone

Except right off the top of my head, there are two: Charlotte and Orlando.

I think Plumlee, Vanderbilt, Eubanks, Payton, and Winslow could get the job done.

The year we made it to WCF with Dame, we made moves for DEPTH. Adding Hood in trade and Kanter in buy out market was great. I like the idea of the same this year. Not necessarily another star but 2 or 3 players that are better than half our current roster. I like the Plumlee/Rozier/McDaniels idea for instance.

Our 3 best role players for 2 role players? I’m not sure.

Not a trade proposal, just noting that I think a center by committee approach could work OK if you have enough versatility.

If the rest of the squad has length, I'm completley fine with Center by committee. That said, I still want to try and pry either Bol Bol or Mo Bamba away from Orlando.

An idea I saw floated elsewhere, if we truly want a win now attempt:

    Hart, Sharpe for Anunoby.

hell no. This is a “I would consider stop being a fan of the team until Joe and Jody are gone” type of trade for me.
