In other news Ukraine will be receiving rockets from USA with double the range of what they have now but still only about 90 miles. They need about 250 mile range to isolate Crimea. In the past few days many higherups in governement have been fired and/or arrested for corruption.
No. IMO his plan is to take over Ukraine, even for a week, declare victory, and get the hell out of there. If NATO gets involved he will never take over Ukraine.
You'd think you could pay off the Russian Mafia to get him dead or alive. He knows he wanted as away criminal and he would never be able to save face or reverse course, what would prevent him from going after Germany if he knows he's dead man anyway. I can't see him allowing Germany to send tanks and such? The last time Germany fucked with Russia it didn't turn out well, for Germany.
I realize that. He used propaganda in today’s speech that again German tanks with crosses on them on Russian ground. Once again he threatened nukes as a way to deal with them. Guy is a lunatic and thinks he’s Stalin.
I don't think he feels like he has a choice. He thinks he has to do this or Russia will die. And he's probably right. This is about the only thing that could save Russia (but they couldn't stop at Ukraine. They'd need to take virtually all of their neighbors to get their population up to the 300 million range). We can't let that happen, but Russia is so screwed under Putin that he has no choice but to try.
I'm not too worried. A lot of russians are going to die if they keep attacking entrenched Ukrainian positions without proper artillery and tank support.
I can't imagine why Putin would let his "plan" (if there really is one) out of the bag, before actually implementing it.
Day 345. Von der Leyen believes Ukraine will become an EU member. The European Parliament adopted a resolution regarding Ukraine’s EU accession negotiations. A Ukrainian intelligence official stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the Russian military to capture Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts by March 2023.
"I think what’s going to be the key — because we do not assess that (Russian President Vladimir Putin) is serious about negotiations — the key is going to be on the battlefield in the next six months, it seems to us,” Burns said, addressing an audience at Georgetown University. That includes “puncturing Putin’s hubris, making clear that he’s not only not going to be able to advance further in Ukraine, but as every month goes by, he runs a greater and greater risk of losing the territory he’s illegally seized so far.” But the CIA director said he told one of his Russian counterparts, Sergey Naryshkin, in November that “that Russian calculation is as deeply flawed as the original decision to go to war last February 24 was.” https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-at...-outcome-of-russoukrainian-war-cia-chief.html
If USA believes this, shouldn't they give Ukraine longer range rockets right now, as long as they only use within their own pre 2014 borders?
Putin had the gall to honor soldiers who fought the battle of Stalingrad. They were fighting an invading army, Vlad!
I hope some of you have a free article left on WAPO. Mostly photos. Most chilling for me is that many participants are dressed in the uniforms of the dreaded NKVD, secret police who arrested tens of thousands of soviet citizens and usually executed them after interrogations. I have visited the mass gravesites in Vinnitsa Also quite chilling that at the end Putin seems to be implying he might escalate to something like chemical, biological or nuclear war. https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...tify-his-ukraine-war/?itid=hp_world_p011_f003
Thats exactly the propaganda point he was trying to get across to the Russian people. He's a lunatic that needs to be taken out...
