And then spend four years honing their skills on a losing team before moving to a winning team through free agency or a forced trade.
Yes, it's reminiscent. Yes, but not that move. Love's star power is gone. Dude is a white dwarf at the end of his career.
'Course, Cavs have no need for Nurk, so something like this would be probably a little more reasonable. I mean, still completely unrealistic, but intriguing in theory.
Either do I, even with him being a free agent after the season. It's just too big of a price tag to bring him in. You'd have to do a four team deal and move Simons too, just to make a somewhat acceptable deal. Not good. Not realistic.
Just getting four teams together and getting them to agree on something like that, when there are likely better deals to be had. Yeah, not happening.
As long as Joe doesn’t trade Sharpe I’m fine. If he does I don’t know what to say, especially if he’s not even the GM next season. I’d rather no trade than Joe fuck away what limited pieces we do have for a real GM to work with next year, or whenever we are finally sold.
It's kind of 3 separate trades, and in that case, if it was Simons, Winslow, and 2 2nds for OG, Vandy and Achioruwa, I' just as soon do that, and look elsewhere for something with Hart and Nurk.
Nah, I think if the second rounders that come back from a Josh and Nurk for KLove deal make other more important deals happen then it's palatable. The fact is Nurk is a really bad fit with what Chauncey is trying to do defensively and he's Nurk offensively, so his bad contract being three years longer than the third of a season that we'd spend with KLove's makes Nurk's contract worse than Love's. Let's say that we have a big trade that would still be available after this for a superstar and it needs FRPs but Chicago is being stubborn and wants two SRPs to take the protectionist off of the pick we owe them, while simultaneously Vanderbilt can be had for Justise and three seconds... in a vacuum, I don't know that I would trade Hart and Nurk for Love and some seconds but I don't hate love off of the bench in Chauncey's system, I don't even hate the idea of him starting. I also don't hate the idea of us getting Nurk out of here. For me it would have to be like 4 second round picks and we would have to need them to do something bigger for the trade to make sense. Also that trade puts us into the luxury tax before we even address that it puts us a player below the roster minimum so it would never happen by itself, it would have to be a trade that was made in order to allow other things to happen.
I don’t remember seeing people say Nurk is overpaid….not in todays game. I only read people saying he isn’t good.
Let's all remember that Danny Ainge traded a pick that turned into Brandon Roy for Sebastian Telfair. Ainge isn't some GM god.
