If you said guards, and said [foolishly] Reddish is a guard, then I might be inclined to agree. I think you'd have to go back to Jermaine to find a time our front court was too crowded. If Reddish can't beat out a couple 2nd rounders at the forward spots, then he's not good enough for this discussion to matter.
“It’s been great,” Simons told Charania of learning under Lillard. “My first couple years, just learning, just watching. He’s always teaching me things, even during the game even when I wasn’t playing. He would come over to me and teach me what he was doing in the game, even though he knew I wasn’t gonna play. He just knew at some point it was gonna be my time to play and he wanted me to understand each and every situation he was going through. Now you see it coming to life. Me in the game now, I’m going through everything he’s been through over the years as well.”
If Schmitz had a hand in this decision to bring him here for that price and Chauncey has a hand in turning him into someone we want here for the long term, I’d consider overhauling the entire roster to a younger one outside of Dame and Grant. Cronin can still go though. Even if this trade turns out good for us, what was stopping him from making this move days beforehand and fitting him into the Covington TPE?
Tax situation, likely. Remember that he can't do whatever he wants, he needs management approval and I suspect there are clear instructions to stay under the tax
Dude, we created two larger TPEs in the Thybulle and Reddish deals. This is not the nitpick you want to make.
I’m not expecting Paul George. If he’s a long term starter as a long 3-D guy on a relatively cheap deal, that’s a win for us. I’m happy with 10-12ppg on 45/37/80 and good on defense.
Sounds like were not extending the QO to Reddish? I had heard for months that was going to be the plan. Maybe we could offer him the vet minimum, but honestly I think I'd rather just let our rookies, Jabari/Watford, new MLE acquisition, etc compete for those forward minutes. He showed nothing in his time with the Blazers. Knox was better and I would likely even lean to cut him too in order to save $3 million.
