ESPN (and other sites) listing Reddish at 6'8" and Knox at 6'7" is embarrassing. Per pre-draft measurements, Knox is a full inch taller than Reddish.

am I the only one who remember the announced NBA policy from about 3 years ago stipulating that teams needed to list height without shoes, and only rounding the the nearest inch?

    that rule sure died fast

Knox probably had no idea he'd be playing backup Center in the NBA. Welcome to Portland Kevin

Reddish looked good in his debut.
Thybulle looked good in his debut.

Fun, even if it is short lived.

I'm being lazy, but can anyone recap exactly what assets we garnered? I know the Knicks pick is conditional (lottery-protected 1st or four 2nds), but do we know which 2nds we would get if the Knicks missed the playoffs? Which five 2nd round picks we got from the Warriors? How big are the two trade exceptions? Whether or not we're keeping our 1st round pick or it's going to Chicago? Usually, I'm more on top of this stuff, but I really haven't been paying attention this year. What are our limits on trading whichever 1st round picks we have going forward?

Looking at the duplication on our roster and all of the "extra piece" assets we gathered this trade deadline, it seems like we may be in a good place to make a massive consolidation trade, kind of like how we acquired Pip from the Rockets.

    Thoughts?

Yeah, but Reddish has had a great deal less gravitational impact on his height since then due to sitting so much.

I though Thybulle at 6.5 looked as tall as Watford at 6'8.

A ‘great’ deadline is kind of a stretch, but I certainly feel a lot better than I did after the deadline.

    1. Fully agree on this assessment. OG doesn’t change anything for us.

    2. That player was loved here—I’m happy we traded him into what seems to be an ideal situation for him. I think this will be a win-win for both us and Hart.

    3. Schmitz hit on one second rounder already, so I’m excited to see what happens.

    4. I wanted us to trade for Thybulle last summer over signing GPII anyway. The possibility of Thybulle and Sharpe together for the long-term has me feeling gitty right now.

Thybulle only has to keep showing his defensive versatility to look good to me. Anything more on offense, great. Anything less means we will get him back at a cheaper price.

We’ve been looking for someone like him for awhile.

Absolutely agreed on 2 thru 4.
OG as a difference maker? He’s not a #2 to Dame. BUT is he equal-ish to Grant? … who IMHO is a strong #3.
And as a starting forward duo, I’d be happy with that.

Sorry, I should’ve said OG for the package we’d have to give up to get him.

I guess I'm a little confused about the Hart trade

I recall reading that the Blazers had generated about a 7M TPE with the trade. I'm having a hard time seeing how that happened unless they had a TPE to absorb Reddish. Did I just see that TPE blurb in a fever dream?

I think the price comes down from the ridiculous, otherwise it doesn’t make sense for Portland.

Nurk + Ant can bring back about 45 mil in a trade.

Porzingis and some cap chicanery to bring back Kuzma in a S&T would be intersting. Bring back Thybulle and Grant in FA.

    Dame
    Thybulle
    Kuzma
    Grant
    Porzingis

With Sharpe, Nas, and miscellaneous fillers that fit positional needs off the bench.

How does that look for next yr?

Statistically he is significantly better without Dame.

He said he "thinks" reddish is a legit 6'8". It was speculation, not borne of actual knowledge.

Still, the point remains that listing Knox, who has measured 6'7.75" barefoot, at 6'7" is inaccurate, and that there are no actual measurements of either player that support listing Reddish as taller than Knox.
