We’re currently at a 3 way tie for 9th. With the Bulls, Lakers, Pacers and Magic sure to pass us up in the standings. We can realistically land the 5th pick.
Normally I'd root for the playoffs but we need assets super bad and the lottery is the only way we are going to get them.
You think inside a small box. When it’s obvious we won’t do shit in the playoffs if by some odd chance we even make it to that point. Best to start looking toward collecting assets. By maximizing assets to retain, ya know, talent that can actually be contenders, it will further enhance the future of this team. But if you take joy in scraping just to get into the playoffs, where we will lose right off the bat, and not have as high of a pick and assets to give Lillard a team worth a damn than continue to play your banjo and live in an alternate reality. As a diehard fan for a long time I realize that being in the middle of being good and sucking is the definition of purgatory in the NBA.
Sam Amick was on a podcast with Bill Oram of the Oregonian and said that the Blazers could realistically have five first round picks to use in trades come July first. Those are the assets the Blazers need in order to have a shot at a trade for a star player who fits Dame’s window. Not sure if anyone's posted this but the Knicks are in 6th in the east after 4 straight wins since signing Hart....go Knicks! We really want the first round pick!
haha not exactly, although Nate Oats (the coach of Alabama) did say he reached out to Ray Lewis to give advice on playing through adversity lol. Brandon miller looks legit but has clear red flags lol
We are apparently not tanking. I just talked to someone who knows people. Dame and Jerami have routines that they go through every game: taping, stretching, shooting, etc. Well, the plane was apparently supposed to leave at 10am for Sacramento but left around 1pm, which did not leave enough time for said routine, therefore they rested.
