And had a workout regimen that was unparalleled. His motor was a huge difference. The scouts are questioning Wembanyama's motor at this point.

He's absolutely off the charts talented. Every scout seems to agree with that. I wish i had a chance to go see him play live in person. Would love to see the things we don't get to see on video.

Except with Sabonis (who had his Achilles problems), IMHO, 7’2 in shoes is the limit for me. Feet and knees are the big man red flags. Then comes the mobility limitations.

I hope Wemby puts on good, structural weight, core strength, and works on flexibility. He has every NBA skill to work on just like every incoming rookie, but also he has the pressure of hype and expectations. Compared to Kareem … or worse — Wilt … Wemby has a longggg way to go.

Do the Blazers take him if the (EXTENSIVE) physical checks out? Yes, of course.

Take Jarace Walker, this team is soft enough. Can you imagine Jokic backing Wemby down lol.

Memories... wonder why you're so forgetful. Here's a hint, you wrote an article on it. Not a post, an article

    https://www.google.com/search?q=kevin durant college&client=firefox-b-1-d&sxsrf=AJOqlzU0ecoXikS5rsmmMPiJV5suUdqSkQ:1677429245445&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjD2b3yzrP9AhXxPEQIHSuMD0QQ0pQJegQIBxAC&biw=1920&bih=942&dpr=1#imgrc=8lAkHZmtVT8b3M

plenty of full body pics of a rail thin Durant from college in that link. Guys pretty much always fill out in their later teens into their 20s due to a massive uptick in hormones. It's entirely possible/likely Durant was 10-15 pounds heavier by the time he was drafted then when he was at UT just like it's entirely possible/likely that Victor has filled out some since some of the photos posted here were taken. A side note, Durant was 3 months older when he was drafted then Victor will be.

For medical types projecting a young prospect, a lack of muscle mass doesn't raise concerns about being able to take the grind of the NBA like a frame out of alignment. I'd imagine the team with the #1 pick will have their staff put Wemby through a bunch of tests to see whats what with his knees, back, etc... Maybe they'll turn up something real and he drops?

My hope is the Blazers get a decent lottery pick, and use it in a trade.

Portland would have to go on a tear of historic proportions to get the 4th seed. I love 'em but they ain't going 20-3 to close the season.

What’s gonna happen, and really piss me off is, Dame will play 35+ min a game the rest of the way just to get us in playin contention, then we will lose that but be stuck at the back end of the lottery and end up packaging that pick and the NY pick just to move up and get the guy we “really want” when we could of just gone through the motions for 20 games and got that guy and kept the NY pick. Typical Blazers order of events. No direction, let’s say we wanna win now but make moves to win in the future but not fully commit to either. Jody, Joe, and Billups need to fucking go. Let’s get some proven winners in here, is Knight still interested?

I think we have further evidence that Cronin is into tanking. Miami signed Cody Zeller this week, somebody else Willy Cauley-Stein and Nerlens Noel just bought out. These might be marginal players but with Portland being so short, they would help. Why no interest?

Seems like he wants to tank, but he's not the coach, so he can't do it directly like Popovich. I think the remaining games will be more like the Wizards than the Rockets. Lots of offense but not enough defense to win. Especially if Nurkic never comes back.

Who said Wemby is soft? Can block shots and defend on perimeter.

Anything can happen, let’s get after it. We’re right there. Then he scored 71 in 39 minutes. Maybe anything can happen?

On the one hand, I'm a season ticket holder and I do not want to see the team tank. The Blazer have a once in a generational talent doing things I've never seen in my lifetime. I want to see more of 'Attack Mode' Lillard. I want to see the Blazers make the playoffs and make some noise. That's why I watch basketball. Not to watch Dame sit on the bench and wait for the lottery balls to fall the Blazers way, and hope in 5 years that pick turns out to be half as good as Dame.

On the other hand, the Blazers are currently sitting in the 11th spot, and have a 9.4% chance of jumping up to the top 4, and a 2.0% chance of grabbing that #1 spot.

    upload_2023-2-28_10-34-24.png

One less win, and 2 more losses would put the Blazers in the 7th spot, and a 31.9% chance at a top 4 pick, and a 7.5% chance at that #1 pick. So tempting to root for losses...

I'm not in tank mode just yet. I want to be entertained this year. Rooting for losses in the hopes of success multiple years down the road does not appeal to me.

    Give me more Dame Time!

Thats the synopsis of the article?

So are you for tanking now or not after reading the article and Dame’s last performance?

im with some others here. I just cant actively root to tank even if i think its for the best long term. Im right with @42N8Bounce on this. Being a season ticket holder im not interested in watching a bunch of losses.

I'm a little puzzsled by those wanting to get into the playoffs and believing that will be a new season and anything can happen. I believe that even if Grant and Simons and Nurkic were all healthy by the playoff time, this is not a team that can go far in the playoffs. They would need a fortunate matchup to win even one series. This team is not ready yet. They need a strong addition. Cronin understands that; that's why he is doing nothing to make them stronger right now. Getting a lottery pick could help them get someone to pair with Lillard.
I'm rooting for a lottery pick.

Love can be irrational, my friend. Not saying others don't love the team, but the love of the excitement of a win inside the moda outweighs the common sense of a higher draft pick becoming an asset.
I am not sure if this holds true for other game attendees, but its a large part of it for me.
I also have a long commute and when it starts to become, “lets drive to the moda and fight that hell traffic to witness another loss”, it becomes easier to lose interest and i don't want that.
I also disagree with your assessment of a fully healthy squad. Do i think they are true contenders? No. Do i think they are good enough to take advantage of some luck and get to the conf. Finals? I do. And to me, thats worth it.
This team has had very few games together healthy. Dame is on a complete terror aNd i think the other players are buying into the ‘Dame time’ wave thats splashing over the country right now. Its gonna motivate them to play their best. Ant looks like he will be back for the playoffs, giving us three 20ppg players. We have weapons. When healthy, we should be able to play good defense with the recent moves.
Lets play hard and see what the next ten games give us. If we go less than 6-4, i might see a different light.
