If Portland wants to give Dame a chance, there is a need for coaching upgrade, either the assistants to help a green coach, or an experienced head coach. Unfortunate, but true

    Undecided.

The roster sucks and the objective is to lose for a better pick.

Chauncey hasn't been given a complete roster to coach since he's been here. Last season was what it was. At the start of this season Cronin said that this roster was not complete and then at the deadline Cronin said he wasn't able to make the trades to complete the roster.

I don't know if Chauncey will be a good coach when/if he gets a roster that is constructed to win but I also don't know that he'll be bad with a good roster either.

yesterday....anemic playbook...nice guy, can't coach out of a timeout. Can't coach an endgame and is too happy with losses..by the time Dame's prime is over he may become a good coach...Dame needs a better coach now.

Why would you fire him if it's not his fault?

After tonight 58-91....if Stotts had that record you'd be screaming to fire him. Chauncey said recently that he's still learning to coach.....that's not Dame's window...that's a coaching project. Dame deserves the best available coach

Sure seems like the players are playing to get him fired tonight

The point right now is to lose. So I doubt he’ll get fired this season

The Blazers need a proven winner at the helm if they want to turn this thing around in the next few years.

I said "BOTH" which includes firing him for cause after 2 years.....which I gave more than that to Stotts. Yes, after almost a decade, I was calling for Stotts to be gone, but try to compare apples to apples.

I would fire him just to make the players feel like they can't suck that bad and it not have consequences. I mean, we have Scottie Brooks sitting on the bench - he's a perfectly good tanking coach. Or give the guy who coached the SL team a chance.

I only see Chauncey getting fired if the locker room becomes toxic. By all accounts the team gets along and likes each other a lot. It’s just that collectively they kind of suck and don’t have much talent/size.

I expected this team to improve in defense and effort with Billups at the helm. Neither has occurred. He's had two years. It's enough time to admit it hasn't worked.

Do people in here think that Phil Jackson would have a winning record with the guys available that Chauncey has had?

Billups appears to be what I thought he'd be. Less capable than Stotts.

That said, no reason to fire him untill we have a great replacement. So let's get a great replacement.

I don't think Phil Jackson would have us turning 16 double digit leads into losses.

I don't think Stotts would either.

I am all for giving coaches time, but our offense and defense are trash. He consistently gets out coached. His substitutions are awful. His in game adjustments are non existent.
It would not make me the least bit sad if he were let go

There's no debate at all that Chauncey is vastly superior than Stotts. No discussion at all.

But if he got let go I wouldn't be sad either.
