I just hoping to draft a guy with AS potential. Wemby injury potential terrifies me. Wont get him anyways so it is better to think who to get at 5 imho.
I think you haven't checked out the odds on where we are likely to pick. If you don't think we have a shot at the first pick, we're half as likely to end up at 5. I think the safest way to not let yourself get disappointed is to expect that we won't get any of the guys in this draft because we'll trade the pick but if you want to dream of guys who have never played a minute of NBA ball then look at who is projected around the 7th pick since as a singular destination, it is the most likely landing spot our pick might find.
We have a 41% chance of getting top 4 which is really good all things considered. We'll get an all-star player with one of those picks. But I agree; don't bank on Wemby.
Nah, just crossing my fingers and hoping against my better judgment. I'm banking on top 7 but if we get unlucky even that could end up with disappointment but it is what I'm banking on.
These salty fucking Magic fans are saying we’re tanking… like what the fuck are they doing? And the wiz? And the pacers? And the Rockets, Spurs, and Pistons…..
Fall in love with the dudes at 7-8 and be pleasantly surprised with anyone better. The Lotto guarantees nothing.
Yeah I mean, let’s just assume Chet is incredible. You can’t tell me Shaedon isn’t already at least 3rd best of his class already. I watched a bunch of Mathurin, JW and Ivey tape yesterday and it’s nice but it doesn’t look anything like what Shaedon is doing rn.
The Mavs had a legit shot at the play in going into the last 2 games. The Blazers struggling with injuries out of the All Star break gave it a go, until they were just treading water upstream. Makes the two teams situation apples and oranges. The Mavs are very unlikable with Puka, Cryee, and Billy Goat Kidd. Plus Kidd's misuse of Christian Wood's abilities with low minutes most nights as a bench player behind mediocre Powell was mind numbing. I think Wood probably wants the heck out, even though he said all the right stuff.
Mathurin could be nice, but Sochan and Ivey look like role players and Daniels could be a bust. Smith has looked mediocre. Murray and Banchero look like borderline All Stars. Chet is a mystery man. I think Shae has a chance to be the best player in this draft.
Dallas had two or three guys out due to "rest". We have claimed injuries (see our extra roster spots, etc.) so I don't think it's in the same category as what Dallas is doing.
