There’s something perfect about this—the favorite grocery store of liberals being forced out of business by liberal policies. It’s a shame, really. San Francisco, like Portland, is getting more unlivable by the day. https://news.yahoo.com/whole-foods-downtown-san-francisco-122832031.html?mibextid=q5o4bk
Wrong again. Whole Foods downtown is temporarily closing. They plan to reopen. There are 8 other Whole Foods markets in San Francisco. Oh, and another invented scandal, it has nothing to do with trans people. Next time, check the local area before you post about it.
Man, Portland is so unlivable that people who don't even live here can't live here! Why would he left facts get in the way of a good troll? For fucks sake, he voted for Trump, facts are the last thing that will take seed in his hippocampus. (and no, @THE HCP , a hippocampus has nothing to do with a hippo on campus). Funny how often people who don't live in areas act like they know the area better than those who actually live in the area.
For the record, San Francisco has a lower rate of violent crime than many other comparably sized cities and much lower rate of murder. Possibly due to stringent gun laws. Of the ten US states with highest murder rates, nine are Republican controlled and one is a swing state. A lot of self-identified progressives dislike Whole Foods due to high prices, anti-union activity, and affiliation with Amazon. But like julius said, don't let facts get in the way.
Better take a closer look at those statistics. In Mississippi, the state with the highest murder rate, 70% of the murders take place in the city of Jackson, which is extremely liberal and run by Democrats. In Louisiana, the state with the second-highest murder rate, 90% of the murders take place in New Orleans, which has been run exclusively by Democrats for 150 years. In Missouri, #4 on the list, 90% of the murders take place in St. Louis and Kansas City, both dominated and run by Democrats. St. Louis, which is consistently rated as one of the most dangerous cities in America, has also been voted the most liberal city in America. In every state on the Top 10 list, the great majority of murders take place in urban centers populated and run by Democrats. In the outlying rural areas, which are more conservative and make up the largest part of these states, the murder rate is much, much lower, and people are living much safer lives.
Cities have more people in them. A town of 5000 will likely have fewer total murders than a city of 500,000. The rate of murder is per capita. Nothing in your screed explains why San Francisco has a lower murder rate than so many comparably size cities. Someone who still thinks Trump won 2020 election likely has trouble with numbers.
I provided facts that rebut your simplistic argument about murders occurring in Republican states. If your “per-capita” argument is relevant, why didn’t you mention it in your original post, when you were blaming Republicans for everything? Your “logic” is, in short, pathetic. The point is that the most violent and dangerous places in America are all run by Democrats: places like Chicago, Baltimore, Memphis, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., and on and on. All run by Democrats for decades, and all with the highest crime, poverty and corruption rates in the country.
Actually people I cities live longer than those in rural areas. How explain that California and Oregon have lower crime rates than Mississippi and Louisiana? California has lots of cities.
Those poor cities are in the worst situation possible, a Democrat as an DA and a Republican run state government. Shitty state run government that isn’t prioritizing anything to address economic hardship realities of most folks in them, and a DA that has no interest in charging such folks who are in those economic situations because of “social justice”. Totally fucked situation.
anything other than discovered bodies, conviction or confession is conjecture in my view...a serial killer may confess to many murders they've never been convicted of
I listened to a San Franciscan journalist talk about the city who's born and raised there and she said tha Whole Foods site is a location where businesses go to die...no business has had success on that corner as the locals don't have expendable income and the busness owners don't cater to the local population with their price fixing of goods as rent is so high. She says SF's biggest problem is the gap between the haves and have nots...no middle ground.
