Why not? Trevor Bauer lost three years of his life for rough sex and there has never been any solid evidence that it was not consensual.

Not saying he wont be black balled it certainly could happen. However, i think IU is a good reputation as a solid individual and coach. I believe in second chanced unless rape or murder. POP would endorse him becoming a coach again i bet.

Doesn't sound like he likes to work with young players?

    From the Athletic-
"Nurse and the front office did not see eye to eye on player usage this year, especially when it came to some of the younger, less proven players on the roster."

Sounds like Ime Udoka might end up in Toronto.
"League sources tell The Athletic that former Celtics coach Ime Udoka is expected to be among the candidates interviewed for the job. Other possible successors could include Patrick Mutombo and Jerry Stackhouse."
    Also from The Athletic"

    https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/36253230/nick-nurse-raptors-coach-sources-say?platform=amp

The Toronto Raptors fired coach Nick Nurse on Friday, clearing the way for Ime Udoka to become a serious candidate to replace him, sources told ESPN.

"This is an opportunity for us to reset, to refocus, to put into place the personnel and the players who will help us reach our goal of winning our next championship."

"The Raptors have several important personnel decisions to make in the offseason, including with free agents Fred VanVleet, Jakob Poeltland Gary Trent, and whether to extend Pascal Siakam."

I may be forgetting a trade, but IIRC the only 1st that was traded for a non-all-star at last season's trade deadline was Cleveland's for Caris LeVert. And the Cavs explicitly said they needed to get bigger in the back court (LeVert is 6'6) because of Garland and Sexton. So, Cronin couldn't have stepped in front of Indiana with the 6'3 Powell

and the 1st exchanged in that trade is the 26th pick in the coming draft

so, unless I'm missing another comparable trade it seems like you guys are saying Cronin should have been able to conjure up a Powell trade for a 1st round pick in a market which had no 1st's moving around for a player like Powell

also, something of a gauge for Powell:

    PER: Powell 17.1....Eubanks 16.2
Usage: Powell 26.0%....Eubanks 12.5% (PER is directly impacted by usage rate)

    TS%: Powell .612....Eubanks .666
    eFG%: Powell .559....Eubanks .651
    RebRate: Powell 6.3%....Eubanks 15.2%
AstRate: Powell 11.0%....Eubanks 9.2% (Powell has a 19.5% advantage in assist rate but Eubanks has a 141% advantage in rebound rate)

    Winshares: Powell 3.5....Eubanks 4.4
    Winshares/48: Powell .107....Eubanks .134
    DBPM: Powell -0.7....Eubanks +0.9
    BPM: Powell 0.3....Eubanks 0.1

    salary: Powell 16.8M....Eubanks 1.8M

their total minutes were essentially the same so there is no skew to cumulative stats like winshares. But Powell played on a team that won 11 more games so that would skew the winshare numbers in his favor

I'm not arguing that Eubanks is a better player than Powell. But I easily could argue that Eubanks has an impact equal to Powell, if not greater. Eubanks certainly isn't worth a 1st round pick.

You can't point out how PER is directly impacted by usage rate and not also acknowledge how PER also disproportionately favors bigs.

    let's see...3 of the top 15 are C's and 5 of the top-20 are C's

I don't see much evidence that PER favors bigs. Outliers will be present in all the categories. Where bigs get an advantage is in defensive metrics. As I said in my post, what skews PER the most is usage. For high usage and high minute players, it's a decent gauge of production and efficiency

if you want to make an argument PER favors bigs, I'm open to persuasion:

I don't have the skills or the patience to analyze all that

    Bruh.....

    TS%: Powell .612....Eubanks .666
    eFG%: Powell .559....Eubanks .651
    RebRate: Powell 6.3%....Eubanks 15.2%

No shit a center like Eubanks will have a higher shooting percentage and a better rebounding rate

You're better than this Wize. I expect more.

Well, Dame is calling for more veteran proven players, isn’t he? It might make too much sense.

Since we can’t get a top FA to sign with Portland, at least get a better coach please. Nick Nurse is waiting for your call Cronin
