I prefer Bridges over Brown, but then I looked them up and Bridges is actually older than Brown even though he was drafted 2 years later....
Wasn't Mikal Bridges measured at the combine at 6'5 1/4 in bare feet? I ask only because for an SF I was told that is too short. Personally, I would take him in a heartbeat, but you guys whine so much about height that I am surprised that you all are overlooking it.
Brooklyn does not have 3 first round picks; they only have 2...Phoenix and their own. Houston keeps their pick and Utah gets Philly's pick so what your are proposing is that Portland trade Dame for * Simmons, who is a completely busted player on an albatross contract who might have the most negative value in the NBA * Claxton and picks 21 & 22 in a draft in which they got 23 and Thybulle for Hart in other words 1 decent starting level player who's positive value is offset by the negative value of Simmons, and a pair of draft picks in the 20's in the same draft they already have a pick in the 20's yes, you're right...it's bad ************************************************************* Brooklyn has a lot more draft picks to trade by the way, and they should NOT be able to dump Simmons in a trade for Dame Dame+Keon+Walker for Claxton+Joe Harris+Royce ONeal+Cam Thomas plus Phoenix 2023 first+Phoenix 2025 first + Phoenix or Dallas 2027 first, whichever is more favorable+ Dallas 2029 first...no protections on picks before 2029
Prepare for months of bad trade ideas from other teams asking for the pick + Sharpe for their borderline all-star or half baked starters.
Not saying I want Ben Simmons but I wonder if getting lost on a small market team way out in the PNW isn’t exactly what he needs to regain his confidence.
Sharpe and the pick(if it’s Top 3) should not be traded, there is no “star” available worth that. Sharpe/Brandon Miller could be our Tatum/Brown(but better) in 2-3 seasons.
If Portland got Simmons it should be a way of getting off Nurkic and spare parts, and they should be getting picks in the process. Make sure that aside from the massive cap hit, you’re not banking on Simmons contributing so that if you get ‘anything’ out of him it’s all gravy.
Simmons career , as a star, is OHHVAH! Dude's not made of the right stuff. The Blazers aren't taking him in any deal.
the idea that the Blazers would/should/could trade Dame for Ben Simmons is repugnant squared and anybody advocating for it can go fuck themselves, over and over, then pound sand, then drop dead Brooklyn really can't make a good offer for Dame, unless you believe 3 or 4 likely late 1st round draft picks 5-7 years from now is the basis for a good offer
And then they will leave for the bright lights , and big city. But hey, we can continue to rebuild till the next Millennia.
yes...my wife has one, it comes with a screech, and she pushes it about 17 times a day when I'm around
Including acquiring Bridges, and other players who can actually play, and help the team reach higher goals.
Where do people get this idea that players leave for the “bright lights and big city?” Show me a trend of it happening.
Position is what he can guard (and what his game is, to an extent). He moves like a 3&D SF and whose size and length fit within that range of the multi-position (1-4) defender. BUT he is on the shorter side of the range a team wants. So is Jaylen Brown who was measured at 6’5.25” barefoot with a 6’11.75” wingspan. In contrast, CJ is a shorter SG who plays so much smaller. Shaedon Sharpe at 6’4.25” and 6’11.5” wingspan makes for a shorter SF, but a GOOD-sized SG. Shaedon at SF with a shorter SG beside him (Ant) without some serious D puts so much pressure on having bigs to play very good to excellent D. Bridges ups the D without harming the other end. Dame + Sharpe + Bridges + Grant … would be fun to see!
who told you that? Heck Draymond is likely headed to the HoF as a PF & he measured only 0.5" taller then that. Yes thats what Bridges measured at the combine... which is 1.5" taller then the guy (Hart) Portland started at SF most of the year. More important measurements then height in projecting positions are weight and standing reach where (again) Bridges measured superior to Hart (+10lbs, +2.5"). Of course everyone would take him in a heartbeat if he was easily attainable. yup, that would be an exciting 1-4. It would probably take every disposable asset Portland has to pry Mikal from NYB and even then they might not be interested. Though they'd be a fun group for sure, I don't see that as serious contending level team unless Sharpe bumps his game through the stratosphere (like All NBA team) next season... do you? STOMP
