I don’t think he’s a cornerstone anymore. That is Edwards team now.

That’s about the only reason I would ever want Draymond on this team lol. I think having Draymond would really accelerate Wemby’s development as a player.

KAT was the cornerstone way before Edwards got there and even part of Edwards’ tenure so far. That’s what I was referring to. I don’t see how they can get rid of a cornerstone for a total of just one long term piece, a guy who will be shipped to another team, and a late 1st.

If Dame was shipped off for that little, I wouldn’t know how to react as a fan. MIN fans would riot.

Getting Wemby pretty much cures everything with this roster. Only significant concern at that point would be his health and strength at the NBA level, more than who is the right 5th best veteran teammate.

Yeah any followup move would probably be fine because it's just a footnote in the success of winning the Wemby lotto.

If we did get Wemby ideally I'd prefer we just return the rest of the roster more or less as is with a vet MLE acquisition. Then we see how Wemby plays, how Sharpe improves, how our vets fit or don't fit and adjust once the deficiencies are better known. I'd hate to give up Ant then realize he's the perfect offensive spark to pair with the others we are missing. Or Id hate to give up Nurk and picks only to realize Wemby is best at PF and we only have scrub centers.

Wemby will ultimately be the best version of himself when he is strong enough to play C, but I agree. Wemby will likely erase a lot of Nurk’s lapses on defense.

I think that if we get Wemby, we need to just lock down the PF/C rotation for the forseeable future with Wemby/Grant/Watford at PF and Nurk/Wemby/Lively at C.

Doesn't seem like Wemby is going to be a center. More of a KD forward role. So if the Blazers are lucky enough to draft him, i see a starting lineup of Nurk, Wemby, Grant, Sharpe, and Dame. If you keep Ant, he's moving to 6th man role, or you trade him & picks for quality depth on the bench like Seth Curry, and an athletic 3 & D type ( OG). OG , Curry , Thybulle, Eubanks , and Watford. Sign Mays as a two Way. Wholly Jumpin' Jahosefer.

I know this is just some guy on the internet speculating, but it is the type of trade we can expect if we do want to move Dame, which is why I am not too thrilled about it.
In the next few months, we will have to endure stupid ideas from Blazers fans that vastly favor us and equally stupid ideas from other team's fans that favor them.
Teams are not going to give us the young star we will want. Herro is a decent player but is basically a higher-paid Ant. We have three parts to make happy. The Blazers, the other team, and Dame. Some may say screw Dame and just get the best deal, but I doubt we do that to him.

Centers aren’t really big dudes anymore. I don’t see how Wemby could guard power forwards.

You have a good point. Most centers are not that heavy. Jarrett Allen is a good example at 243. Nix Claxton at 215
We will still need one big strong center for certain matchups but Victor can probably match up against most.

Drewbanks is really more of our conventional center. But there are so few big dudes left anymore. The days of Shaq are long gone.

The article i linked suggested a KAT deal to Portland FOR Dame. I doubt you said that.

Yeah I think it's realistic that we could get KAT for Ant, Nas and draft considerations and at the same time get OG for Nurk and other draft considerations. That would probably be the best starting lineup that Dame has played with.

Yeah, that's nonsense. They don't have any picks to send with KAT. That would be idiotic for us.

That doesn't make any sense.... if trading Dame the Blazers would build around young guys and picks not KAT.

    Lazy reporting.

If we move dame, the last thing we'd want is a 45 mil anchor of a contract for a guy you cant build around.
