What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

I’m concerned about his shooting. Isn’t that kind of a big deal in today’s game?

Scoot is a better defender, not a head-case, and even though he doesn't shoot well, is still a better outside shooter than Westbrook as well. Both explosive scorers, and both can pass although not what I would consider 'natural' distributors.

The "Michael Jordan" in this draft is going #1

He's a great prospect but I don't see him as a can't miss superstar. Russ was an MVP, I dunno if Scoot has that ceiling.

Thinking of this in another way, if Shaedon were in this draft, and we know what we know about him, I think he would go 2 .

Well maybe, or maybe not. Maybe he gets injured and never succeds. Amen Thompson has crazy high upside. Giannis was a multiple time MVP and drafted at pick #15, while Jokic was 41st.

Wemba might be a better prospect than any of these, above LeBron, possibly even the best prospect in the history of team sports. #3 is more often than not an allstar, has had many hall of famers, and yes including the best player of all time though.

The trick is we have seen Shaedon play well at the NBA level, but we would never know that for a player in the draft.

Maybe the better comparison is what draft pick this year would most GM's trade Shaedon for vs keep him? Everyone would trade Sharp for #1. I'd think most would keep him vs dealing him out for pick #2, but that's just my guess. I wonder what Hornets fans think.

He also could be Ben Simmons 2.0 with that busted jump shot.

Yup, thats what makes drafting all these 19 year olds very difficult.

Thoughts on this 3 team trade:
    Blazers get mikel bridges
Houston gets the 3rd pick, nurk and keon.
Brooklyn gets the 4 pick, and the 2024 pick back from the houston.

trade the 3rd pick ...work a deal to get Pascal for the 3rd pick plus role players or to get Bridges from the Nets. If you need to move Nurk and Keon to Brooklyn plus the 3rd pick you could get Bridges in a heartbeat I'll bet.

Doesn't make sense from Houston end unless they view the #3 player as a star much much higher than #4. They take on Nurks negative value contract using cap space to do it, and give up the 2024 pick which could be a great lottery pick too.

Okay, but that would also mean it's even worse for us. Worse player coming back, and what picks are we getting from Minny if 5 of them from this decade are going to Utah? Minny just gonna have 0 draft picks for a decade +?

Lebron will probably be the greatest prospect ever. The buzz and expectation around him pre social media is wild. Wemby is hyped to the gills, sure. But his expectation isn't "savior" like Lebron's was (and I still contend that the cavs getting the #1 pick was already set. I don't sit on too many conspiracy theories, but that's one damnit)

Nah. They were looking to get a decent move at the deadline. 4-5 bad losses combined with a swing and a miss at the deadline and the tank was on. They planned that last summer. How else do you explain Lillard playing exactly the amount of games it took to be considered for All NBA?

That probably had it's impact as well.

Well then the team is more delusional and poorly run than I thought. A decent move at the deadline doesn't get last years roster close to contending, nor add any assets to be in a position to do it this summer.

He's much better than an "OK distributor."
Especially compared to what the Blazers are used to.
