?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

I think Orlando is gonna go after pick 3 hard if Scoot is there.

    Suggs/Franz/#6

    for

    #3/Nas/Filler

    Very underwhelming.

If these are the kinds of trades we're desperate enough to talk ourselves into, we'd have been better off playing it out and trying to get into the play-in and then picking Walker or Hendricks.

I get it’s not sexy but Franz is a stud, I’d take him over KAT any day and adding a Thompson twin at 6 wouldn’t be bad either. People are gonna be mighty disappointed when sell low Joe deals that pick.

People are already against drafting Scoot because we have Dame. Suggs doesn’t get rid of that problem. I would take Franz/#6/#11 for #3/Nas. Try to draft Ausar at #6, then BPA at #11, use #11 and #23 to trade up for a Schmitz approved guy.

But we’re in agreement, Franz is a stud.

What are you expecting to get back if the Blazers send out only the #3 and no picks (or Simons)?

The Blazers don’t need to send Nas out either. Just use the trade exception.

Blazers get: Franz Wagner, #6 pick 2023 draft______ Blazers send out: #3 pick.

What’s a better return for the #3 pick alone?

I'd say Scoot or Miller are a better return.

IF.....we got Franz and could get Hendricks at #6, that might be interesting. It is a lot of length, Franz can score, Hendricks can shoot and play defense. Neither is as good as what we would get at #3, but together, they add a lot of what Portland needs. We keep the scoring in the backcourt and still have Ant to trade if needed. Since we are more than 1 player away, this isn't blowing Kenny Vance's skirt up, but it addresses a lot of needs.

Sub WCJ for Suggs and I might consider it. We'd need to send more money back

No need for Suggs. He is their bust. Take Franz, 6 and 11

If that happened I wonder what kinda haul 6/11/Ant would bring back? If Dame wants vets I can’t see is taking 2 lotto picks to camp.

    26 min mark.

Givony thinks Portland keeps the pick and selects between whoever falls among either Miller or Scoot.

Given his connections to Schmitz, I give this some weight.

That's how you got into that mess in the first place. May as well roll with it.

ok, that's overselling value of the 3rd pick, by a lot, in my view. Wendall Carter+Franz Wagner+ #6 for #3? That's 34 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists as the price of moving from 6 to 3. I think Orlando would balk hard at that

now, moving up 3 slots that high in a draft order is a substantial leap, so the Blazers can't sell the 3 cheaply. If this is truly a 3 player draft I'd think a more realistic trade would be Wagner + 6 + 11 for 3. Orlando would probably find that too steep though unless they really really wanted Scoot

I don't know what the Blazers would do with 6 + 11 + 23 in the same draft though

What about keeping the pick and freeing up future picks to grab Bridges with Simons?

Then send out Watford, Keon and your less favored developmental players for 2nds and bring in vets to fill out your rotation.

If Scoot is BPA at 2 and Charlotte doesn’t take him because of LaMelo as a 6’7 PG who is fond of the ball, then the bidding begins and exactly everyone knows what Portland (likely) wants: a high quality forward to be Dame’s #2.

Siakam is a year from UFA and wanting $$$. FVV and Trent want theirs this summer. Add in Poeltl. Then OG opts out next summer. Siakam is the odd man out to build around Scottie Barnes.

They already need guard depth. Simons and #3 in a package should be an improvement.
Dame, Sharpe, Siakam and Grant is the best since LMA … better IMHO.
