What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

I think the only way Portland would keep the pick is if Miller falls to 3, and at the workout just blows them away with his skillset and attitude. And they are 100% sure the authorities will not pursue him as an accessory to the crime. Siakam, as long as he agrees to an extension, would be a fantastic addition to the team. The # 3 plus Ant/Nas seems fair for a All NBA talent.

I would imagine that if they go this way, it means they break the DDR + ZL duo and restarting. So, assume they flip ZL somewhere for some picks and other capital and later do something like Demar + Caruso + future picks + pick forgiveness for Ant, Nurk, #3

The Blazers kick the pick down the road, get a backup PG, a Vet and have pick capital for additional trades.

Not saying this is great, but it is certainly one route that can happen. Of course, it will require a 3rd team and ZL - but you get the idea.

Not enough for the #3. It's got to be Siakam or Bridges for the #3. Or you stay with Miller if he's avail. I like DeRozan, but not for the #3.

    $77,678,571/3-years = $25,892,857. I rounded 25.9M to 26M

last year's salary is done and irrelevant. If you were making 20 dollars and hour last year and 30 dollars an hour this year, you don't make 25 dollars an hour

Depends on what that future pick is, but generally, without knowing what it is, I would agree. But you are certainly missing a major portion of that thing. Again, it was not a real trade suggestion, just a point that Lonzo being done might cause Chicago to reboot which makes them a potential suitor for the #3 pick.

I find it a little humorous that he is listed as 6'4" on a couple of websites. No way

It’s early folks. One of these 3 teams will cave. Joe just has to stick to his guns! Then could we do Nurkic +23 and maybe Keon or Knox for Ayton?

Now that would be be Saucy. Ayton, (Siakam, Bridges, or Brown), Grant, Sharpe, and Dame.

you've been on the Ayton-->Portland crusade for a long time. I hated it the first time I saw it....still do. And I don't think the Vulcans would sign off of paying two non-all-stars like Grant/Ayton 65-70M year. And Cronin hopefully sees it's not a good idea. I think there are only about 4 C's in the league worth more than 25M/year and Ayton isn't one of them

besides all that, there too wide a gulf in salaries. Nurkic + Little + Keon is still 2.7M short of passing CBA muster. It would have to be done in the off-season. Which would be good because the Blazers wouldn't be giving Phoenix that 23rd pick too. That's an overpay for Ayton's bloated salary

I get what you're saying, and agree on the salary vs. performance inconsistency & poutiness. But as a potential second big talent acquired after one of the Big 3, i think Ayton, in a new place, could be pretty awesome. Maybe he just needs a new start. Just saying.

I just happen to think C's have become the least impactful position on an NBA floor. Yes, if you have a Jokic or Embiid, there massive impact. But there are only two guys like that...them

there are only 2 other C's I find worth much money: Sabonis who led the Kings to a 1st round exit; and Adebayo who may be helping leading the Heat to playoff infamy.

I'd vote center by committee out of the bargain bin

he's be 29 entering his 10 season next year. If he hasn't been able to consistently maintain passion for 9 years it's unlikely he'll regain it in his 10th. I think his passion went the same direction as his lift after the accumulated injuries. Speaking of injuries, when will be his next?

Hopefully never. Just want to see him play with the passion he had in the Euros. Really like Nurk. Want him to succeed. I think we all do.
