And after those years, there's plenty of time to draft more youngsters, who may be way better than Scoot to rebuild with. Special doesn't come around often. And even if it does, it may never be all in like Dame has been, even through the rough stretches.

If the Magic love Scoot. I think a really easy trade to make if the Hornets take Miller is 3 and Nurk for Franz, WCJ and 11. We would still have 11, 23 and both Ant and Nas to match salaries and make one more big bold move. Those are two players that have shown they can play in the league but are young enough to have a lot of upside.

I love Franz and mentioned a trade for him awhile ago but after reading some message boards I didn’t realize how much the fans(and I’m guessing organization) value him. I think they have 2 pieces they won’t part with and he’s one of them.

I get it...I think we see things differently. Yes, Dame is an assassin and a great shooter, there's no denying it. I just prefer a style of play that emphasizes a faster pace, ball movement and defense...Like Miami and Denver.

many here are in a rut with their views, some especially so. Maybe if they post the same thought another 10,000 times we'll all come to see things their way?

You're spamming your perspective pretty hard. We get it. You want to move on from Dame. Cool. Some of us don't and I think most of the posts that I see about how we move forward with Dame have different ideas of how to do that. You just keep saying that we can't do it and expect to contend.

We being you and 3 other posters who don't want to hear anything but Dame Dame Dame like children clinging to visions of Santa, so much that any other discussion makes that poster a hater. It's pathetic. This is a Portland Trailblazers forum not the Damian Lillard fan club, grow up. We all love Dame, who else but total Trailblazer die hards would be chopping it up daily in the offseason after another terrible campaign?

I'm a lifelong Blazer fan whose priority is to win championships and only wish this organization prioritized winning. In our discussions here, I'm open to many possibilities that get the team to contender level, but competing with Dame given his age and the state of the roster is the longest of longshots. Fantasy trades where Joe pulls a magic bunny out his ass are every offseason BS that never happen. Everyone would love it if they did, but most accept reality that it's extremely unlikely and move on to something that has a realistic chance of happening.

Given history, they are absolutely not trading Dame this offseason. They can't until July and won't unless someone completely knocks their socks off with a unexpected lopsided offer as they're clearly more about butts in seats then building a contender. In charge, I'd have accepted reality a while back and started the next era to build towards competing. Dame has been an awesome PTB and I'd absolutely love to see him win a championship even if it's elsewhere much more then I want to see him wallow in mediocrity here as his career winds down... thats you. Olshey shit the bed time and again and here we are with you wanting to throw good money after bad and me wishing they'd turn the page. I expect they'll again try to split the baby this offseason and take both the long and short road adding a pick and a vet. Maybe they'll reach 500 again before Dame's health fails? So excited

As far as "spamming my perspective pretty hard" you should take a look in the mirror. Quick math reveals you're posting here 3.5+ times a day to my 2... or almost twice as much. Pot/kettle is being kind

Fun fact, we played at a faster pace than Miami and Denver this season!
Both teams in the finals were in the bottom quarter of pace this season. But carry on about your desire for fast pace like them.

    those pesky facts are pesky

Boston had a slower pace than Portland; so did Phoenix, Brooklyn, NY Knicks, Philly, & Cleveland. In fact, 6 of the 8 teams in the conference semi-finals had a slower pace than Portland.

but yeah, let's blame Dame for not understanding the importance of pace

We should blame Dame for not having better teammates.

Add it to the list of meaningless stats that get falsely associated to success.

So, yeh, he is still talking about wanting to build a team to win in Portland. But the way he is talking about Bam and Bridges being his dawgs and not about how much he wants them in Portland (and I didn't listen to the video so maybe he does say that?) Don't hear him saying Grant is his dawg or Sharpe is his dawg. And yeh, I know that's not the question he was asked. But I would have preferred he answered by saying "I'm not talking about what teams I want to go to right now. We are still working on making this a great team".
He also started to slip up a little the other day when he said the team is working to get ME some help, then quickly corrected it to say US.
Maybe I am oversensitive, but for me, this makes it more likely that I am ready for the team to move on....

I don't think you're oversensitive. I think Dame is just reiterating his position that it's time for management to put up or shut up. I do not think that backs anyone into any corners it just means that if we don't improve this team in a meaningful way that he will want out. I don't blame him and it gives Cronin the opportunity to explore trades to make the team better aggressively or once again punt on the team's success by trading Dame and going into a total youth rebuild.
