?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

I can see Charlotte trading #2 for Zion. He is from the Charlotte area and is probably worth the risk for them.

If Ant and flotsam gets the 2nd pick, Portland can make the deal with Charlotte and eliminate NO and stay clear of Zion.

he wasn't spectacular or dynamic, but he was outstanding in his role as secondary scorer, ace defender, 3&D, and glue-guy. Those are all integral roles on a contender

then he went to Brooklyn and thrived as the #1 option. To be sure, the sample size of his Brooklyn surge is incredibly small vs the rest of his career (31 games vs 400 games), but it is impressive that he has been very successful is several different roles. And, he's also that very valuable and somewhat rare 2-way player (at least it's rare in Portland).

all that said, he's not worth more than #3 + Simons. But he's the only 'target' among him, Siakam, Brown, Ingram that I think is worth that price. The rest of them have too many negative factors attached and there would need to be something else coming back to Portland. The Blazers wouldn't be trading a 7-10th pick; they'd be trading a top-3 pick in what apparently is a 3 person draft. Pay up if you want it because, contrary to all the reporting, I think Portland is more than fine with keeping that pick

    WTF!?!?

how in the unforgiving holy hell did the Pelicans get out from under the albatross contract they reportedly really want to escape because they know what the future holds for Zion (Blazers take heed!) and end up with the 2nd, 3rd, & 23rd picks in the draft by trading that albatross contract, #14 and a future pick (hey, lets make sure it's heavily protected because we wouldn't want the Pelicans to put any value into this abortion of a trade). By the way, Herbert Jones is seriously overrated, especially in this forum

and why oh why, would Charlotte trade the #2 for that? If Portland had the #2 pick, would they trade it for Ant?

ggggeeeezuzzz I've seen some really really stupid-dumb trade ideas, but that one is top-10

Looks like a trade down for 4 is out of the question

Yeah I watched a video alluding to this. But I have my doubts the guy knows what he is talking about. My guess is they either trade it or go with Miller. But I have flipped-flopped about 10 times now.

This hasn't been released on youtube yet, but I listened on Spotify and it's a good episode.

Josh Lloyd thinks Simons/3 is more than enough for Bridges and the Nets would snatch that up immediately. He actually thinks the 3 is worth more than that and that Simons/3 should be something like Bridges/Claxton.

But obviously that depends on whether Scoot is there.

This podcast is always pretty good. The only annoying thing is the 30 minutes format. I could hear more but I know this is how they do it at Locked On.

Yeah they go for quantity over quality. I know how this works because Hoopsworld used to do daily articles too, and trying to come up with something to talk about EVERY SINGLE DAY can really water things down.

So instead of a really good 1 hour or 2 hour interview once a week, they do 30 minutes a day.

And to piggy back on this post, Bridges is an ironman. Never missed a game and he takes a lot of pride in that. Also, he has a ridiculously team friendly contract. Three years left on it.

yes, because front offices are so honest and straight-forward this time of year

however, if the Rockets were interested in jumping up they'd probably be more likely to jump ahead of Portland instead of flipping position. Charlotte would have to cooperate though and right now they are holding the strongest hand. Whatever they do starts a cascade event

why would Brooklyn be more interested in Scoot than Miller?

Star power. Scoot seems to have that "it" factor, whereas Miller doesn't. Scoot is the kind of exciting star that NYC embraces.

Or at least that's the story.

In a way, I like the daily podcast. Offers a good update on all things regarding the Blazers. But a few longer episodes when it's worth it would be good. But I know Mike is following the guidelines. I don't always agree with him (that's what podcast are here for) but I feel that he is doing a good job of analyzing the team and what at stakes at every point of the year.

makes sense although I'd think there is only one prospect with the pre-draft It factor and he's going to San Antonio. The pre-draft It seems to wear off fast after the draft and the reality is there's not a lot of It watching unless you're a lottery team

I guess I'd think if Bridges is actually available for #3, Charlotte is likely to step in front of Portland and make the deal
