?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

Now that Charlotte has all but confirmed that they are all-in on Brandon Miller, that makes the #3 much more valuable in that teams want Scoot and are willing to pay for it.

I think that setting for non-needle moving players would be a mistake.

I would take Zion for the #3 straight up right now. That guy, when healthy, is a needle mover. At this point, if the team is serious about making one last push to build a title team around Dame, they gotta swing for the fences, Trader Bob-style.

God I just really don't want to be holding the bag on Greg Oden 2.0

This guy is a bigger headcase than Greg and we didn't give Greg a huge extension when his rookie deal was up.

Completely agree but most thorough physical ever and a second. Check every nook and cranny. Spend as much as you need to to get an MRI on all body parts. It's going to be a risk regardless but do our due diligence

Trading the third for zion will be a huge mistake. Mark my words.
I said from the get go he has an Oliver Miller future. But looking more like a Swannigan future( minus the passing).

He is just too think for the modern nba.

do not mortgage the future on a guy who will not be in tue league three years from now.

    @13:00

So Lloyd (and even Richman seems to know), that a deal is on the table if Scoot is there, even if it's not the Plan A deal.

    Red/White/Black - Lavine/Siakam/Bam(? unlikely)

Possibly why Dame is so confident he is staying is because he knows there are offers on the table that we would do as a last resort if X player is there at 3.

Lack of Siakam talk makes me believe Siakam is probably that guy. I don't think you'd hear much about the actual trade before it actually happens.

If it's LaVine I will be sorely disappointed, but both Marang and Highkin are so adamantly shooting down that possibility that I really don't think the FO would value LaVine.

Trading for Zion is obviously a HUGE gamble. I wonder what, if any affect Nike being here might have on the situation -- you'd think they have a seriously vested interest in him getting back on track as well...

Not something I'd be doing backflips over, but as others have said... this is the kind of swing that could actually move the championship needle if it works out.

For what it's worth, both Highkin and Marang don't think the Blazers would be interested in Ingram for #3. At least not by himself. Neither think Ingram (and you know this is from talking to people in the org) is the type of player the Blazers value as a true difference maker. Take that for what you will.

Both agree Portland would absolutely swing on Zion.

Ive heard the Nike bit but i think its overestimated. With that type of money you shouldn't need an outside influence to stay in game shape.

If we trade Simons and #3 and all we get back is Siakam I think that's a huge fail.

Totally agree, but most young men are squirrelly at that age in general. By no means is it a panacea but more resources in the area certainly can't hurt...

I would hope that Zion would have to be in playing shape in a physical/workout before this trade was made official.

Playing devil's advocate, because his body is not typical for today's NBA...... we could zig while everyone else zags.
He would still need to get into shape, but let's face it there are not many PFs these days that can stop him. He overpowers almost everyone.

I wouldn't touch Zion with a 10 ft pole. I don't know why we're even talking about him.

I wouldn't either.... but we're talking about him because when he's actually healthy and playing, he's one of the best players in the league. He would actually vault this team into contention (if healthy.)

I think #3 should be enough to secure Siakam. So I think Ant should be re-routed to a third team that just gives Toronto expirings and we get the extra value from that team... say Orlando.
Us outgoing Ant, Nurk, #3 and #23... incoming Siakam, WCJ and #11
Toronto outgoing Siakam... incoming #3, Gary Harris and Nurk
Orlando outgoing #11, Harris and WCJ... incoming Ant and #23

People keep acting like we could trade Ant and the #3 for Siakam straight up but Ant is 6M shy of matching the minimum towards Siakam's salary and picks/the rights to picks to have any matching value until the pick is signed and then you have to wait 60 days. So I guess people are just throwing in Nas and I think Nas has positive value. They should have to take Nurk who although he can play might have slightly negative value or just neutral value and would have us taking on less salary. Especially if we can get a better fitting replacement at starting C.

Of course, but he'll never stay healthy. Bad risk unless you can send him elsewhere and also get back Murphy or Jones.
