I'm all in favor of trading Dame, but there is literally nothing in the overlap between "stuff we'd want" and "stuff Miami is prepared to give up". If the trade was Dame for Erik Spoelstra I would be all over that in a second.
Miami can be as interested in Dame as they want but there are going to be a lot of teams interested in Dame if we put him on the block. Even right now the other team that is supposed to be all about Dame before we even know what Dame is going to do (Brooklyn) has a ton more to offer than Miami does
Haynes reporting it doesn't make me mad at him. Miami wanted him putting that out there so he did and now they look like fucking clowns. They better have a third team that wants Kyle Lowry really really bad for some dumbass reason because they can't keep his contract and Dame's and we sure as shit won't be taking him. They just have no logical course to getting Dame. I have no problem with Haynes letting them out themselves as fools.
This is a genuine consideration. Although once the player we pick at #3 turns out to be a huge disappointment, we'll look back and laugh hollowly.
don't forget Duncan Robinson. That dude is like 6'8" and Coach Billups could run him as small ball Center.
I think the greater probability is that trading third pick for a non superstar, hoping Dame stays healthy from 33-36 years old, and a bunch of new teammates being able to gel enough to compete in such a small window of time is much more likely to disappoint
As a pro Dame trade guy, Miami just doesn’t have the assets. Would need to be a ménage a trade. Martin and Jovic is about 31 mil short and the only assets I’d remotely be interest in
Here's hoping Miami's interest makes Brooklyn offer ALL the picks. And Dame has made no secret of his friendship with Bridges...
