?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

They would get #3 in that deal.

It’s not about getting a better player than Hart. It’s about getting a better player than the nothing we would’ve gotten when Hart left.

Looking at who would be worth #23:

    https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/players.html

Problem is we don't even have any salaries to aggregate. Hard to send out Nurk with 23 unless we're getting an upgrade at center, and I don't think the Pacers would take Nurk + 23 for Myles Turner when they already have 26, 29 and 32.

Kevin Knox + Jeenathen Williams can get us someone at $8.2 million or less.
Kevin Knox + Jeenathen Williams + Keon Johnson can get us someone at 12.5 million or less.
Kevin Knox + Jeenathen Wlliams + Keon Johnson + Nas Little can get us someone at $19 million or less.

Everyone is either worth more or worth less than the 23 though.

23 for Batum? Win for the Clippers (they would take Keon back too - great Powell trade!)
    23 for Gary Harris? Ew
    23 for Gafford? Eh maybe
    23 for Delon Wright? Overpay
23 for Fournier? Sure NY would love that
23 for Bojan Bogdonavic? Maybe but don't think Detroit does that
    23 for Olynyk? Ew
    23 for Royce O'Neale? Uh
23 for Finney Smith? Nets don't do that
    23 for Cody Martin? Possibly

I would take Josh Hart at $18M AAV over all these guys.

I keep hearing this bullshit about how Hart would have left for nothing. I don't believe it. I know about his wife, and I know he wanted to be starter. But he's going to come off the bench in New York. If we paid Hart, he would have stayed.

I just heard Windy on ESPN Radio say he does not think that Zion alone gets the 3rd pick. We know salary has to match, but he meant Zion is not worth the 3rd straightup.

I have heard the same thing about Bridges. The pick has a lot of value. Zion is a reclamation project at this point.

By the way, guys, this thread has been my favorite of all time. Feels great to have a real draft asset.

I did the same math his morning. I also read ‘not teenagers’ from Windy to mean this player is also not that old potentially (Gafford). Else, I think Bojan. A lot of these guys are an overpay at #23, quite honestly.

It was on the Greeny show after he talked to our local guy here, John Gambadoro. Some guy is filling in for him. It was around 0730 this morning. I'm headed out for my sons soccer training, sorry.

He wouldn't have left if we paid him what he was worth.

Seems like Charlotte might snag Scoot just so they can trade him. I can’t believe we are gonna get jumped.

I love how Charlotte's asking price for the #2 pick is essentially "Older, worse rebounding, worse defensively Brandon Miller" ...

If we are trying to use Scoot as trade bait, it's not great.

I just can't remember a time when 4 out of the top 5 picks are all on the market.

This is what I've been saying to everyone saying they're going to take Miller. Totally predictable.

It's bad if we had a trade lined up. Good if we didn't love that trade and can keep whoever we draft at 3.

What happened to your narrative that Miller is the better prospect and the consensus is that they'll take him over the inferior Scoot?

Ah, yes. Whatever that'll fit your agenda.

I'm also not entirely sure Blazers will draft Miller at 3. I'd be excited at whoever we took and kept at 3.
