He did not last year, so I hope he does not do something stupid this year.

The 3rd pick should only be traded for a return only hardcore haters would criticize

More than anything it feels like whatever happens, it won't be that great next season. If we trade the pick for a veteran, the most likely outcome is a first round exist. If we use the pick we're likely to miss the playoffs and tank again.

It depends on what we do. I think no matter what, we are making a trade this summer. I think Simons is gone. Maybe Nurk too. I wouldn't be surprised if we go get Ayton. I'm not really happy about it but it makes a lot of sense for Phoenix.

    Dame
    Sharpe
    Miller
    Grant
    Ayton

That should, in theory, be a better team. Use our MLE to get another rotation player. Again, not saying I love the idea of Ayton but it just feels like the kind of trade that we will fall back on if nothing else can get done.

Most draft nights this place is a shit show.

Or, to pre-edit what clearly I meant to say "this place is a shit show"

Unfortunately, you're points make sense abt Ayton. Nurk and Simons? I feel like Phx would do it but we should not. Nurk and Nas?

Ayton is a top 10 center but at 30M+, I don't think he's worth it but a "we gotta do something" deal on Cronin's part if nothing better presents itself

Probably best way to appease the most Blazer fans is draft BPA at 3 but acquire some vets at low cost like DeRozen, Porzingis, etc. Somewhat similar to last off-season. If we fill out the bench with legit vet minimum guys it could make a real difference in more wins vs last year's shit backups.

Not saying that's the best option, just the least upset Blazer fans.

I just hate the idea of trading any of Sharpe 3 Ant if we don't contend immediately (which I suspect is unrealistic)

Yeah many would be upset if we trade Dame, but I'd say less now than at any time in many years. I think the success with Sharpe has many more fans ok with building with 3 plus more youth.

Puke, I'd much rather have Ant and 3 then Ayton and Siakam. That team isn't contending and now we lost 2/3 of our youth. I'd be very upset with this.

Just draft BPA and run back last year's group is much better.

Another reason I'm souring on Dame. He's putting himself before the team and making the organizations job much harder if not impossible. Let them build the team or ask for a trade, don't try to pull a LBJ/Durant powerplay.

I think Dame just wants to have a competitive team and is done with tanking.

If you trade 3 for good value that should get you an All Star. If you trade Ant for good value that should get you a near All Star, or at least very capable legit starter. Add two players like that to what we had last year (assuming a more balanced roster) and we're not tanking. We'd probably be contending for HCA.

I have NEVER been more stressed out over a Draft , than I have been for this one. Not even close. And it's because my favorite all time Blazer is being bandied about on National Radio, and thrown to the wolves in this Forum. My heart actually is struggling to deal with this. I've become physically disturbed by what i hear and read.

I get it. I obviously put too much stock into being a fan. But it's a labor of love. It's my escape from the world. I love life in general, but because of the meanness that has taken hold in our society, and our country , whether it be politics, or driving, or even going to the freakin' grocery store , i can't turn it off. Because i'm not wealthy enough to insulate myself from it.

Then i come in here , because i want to be excited about the possibilities of adding around this amazing Blazer, and way more than i thought want to just throw him to the curb for some young, wet behind the ears, dude , who doesn't know what it means to have talent. And how hard the work he is going to have to put in , to even sniff the success Dame has accomplished in Portland.

It's more than just the Blazers, or Dame. It's the decline of America. The "Flavor of the moment" that permeates our very existence here. No one seems to care about loyalty. Companies don't, teams don't, couples don't, fans don't .

Something that should be fun has become like everything else here. Polarizing, a battle, a fight, WAR. "It hurts my heart" is a slogan my mom, who battled her demons all through her life due to abuses growing up, and bad decisions as an adult , use to say. Because it really does hurt.

I took a hiatus from this forum during the season. Even though the season was tough, Dame ,until he was shut down, Again! provided amazing memories i will never forget. My daughter and i were at the Houston game where he scored 71. I will never forget it, or the feeling before the game. It was electric. He has given me, as a Blazer fan, more great memories than i can count. I've cried more tears of happiness because of his game heroics, time and time again.

I don't want his Era to end. I know it will when he retires. But it's entirely to soon to end his era as a Blazer.

I'm excited for this Draft. TO BE OVER!

You are Dame's cousin and I claim my $5.

Seriously though, I don't think(Or at least I don't get the vibe) that people are outright bashing him, more just discussing on what is best for the team going forward, with or without Dame. I think most would love to build a team around him and get him that ring that he deserves for being a Blazers legend as he is. However, that is easier said than done.

I love the dude as much as the next person and will be sad IF he leaves. However, I am a Blazer fan first and foremost, and will let it go and cheer on whoever replaces him in the star role.
