Zion sits on the bench too often to be worth trading for. If it happens, I believe that the Blazers will regret this trade.
Are you MJ? Hornets flip Hayward for Ant plus move from 27 to 14 at the cost of going down one spot from 2 to 3? That's nuts. Blazers went from 4 to 2 to get Aldridge only giving up Victor Khyrapa. If Pelicans are ok with Gordon contract they'll probably be fine with Nurk Little and filler. Then we can keep Ant or flip him for OG. Sign Naz Reid for the MLE. I'd keep Ant, but let's list the OG depth; Dame Mays OG Sharpe Grant Thybulle Zion Watford Reid VetMin Eubanks
I tend to think your probably more likely right than wrong. But if your wrong Zion has MVP upside, could legit make the Blazers a contender. There is no player in the draft that has that in the next few years and even long term it's a big question mark for all elite prospects as well. Giannis is the only MVP without these questions, and hed cost way more than #3 and Ant; PLUS Sharpe. Even Embiid has a lot of injury risk.
Would be hard to root for a Dookie if this happens, would do my best haha. Still concerned about us doing this with his injury history however. Regardless I will wait for someone a bit more reputable(Imo) to come out.
who the fk is blazer palace and why should I not believe he's just pulling this out of his colon? in fact, the "according to sources" almost guantaees it's bullshit
That's sort of irrelevant, as normally a ton of the trades announced at the draft get finalized in July.
Not irrelevant at all. Whether or not Ant and/or Nurk are involved in said trade could change if we work out a move before july 1.
Trade would be with Zion and #3. It gets announced at the draft. If it becomes official the next day or a week later, that's irrelevant. Why do you think this matters? Every year there are trades announced at the draft that become official in July.
For Zion to have an upside, means that he has to stay healthy and play more of a season than he does sitting on the sideline. The obvious concern has to be that Zion hasn't been on the floor for more than half the time he has been in the league. This is my big concern. I am a person who believes in what they see. So far, I don't see Zion being a player to trade for with his health issues. If I am wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. But, I have to go with the odds since they favor Zion sitting on our bench most of his visit with the team. If this trade even happens.
