?

What are you hoping for with this pick?

  1. Draft Scoot and keep him

    27.6%
  2. Draft Miller and keep him

    28.6%
  3. Draft someone else at 3 and keep him (please specify)

    3.1%
  4. Trade down, but still draft in the lottery

    10.2%
  5. Trade the pick for a starting forward

    30.6%

I just don't see how it behooves a team like the Pels who obviously want Scoot and have had such a hard time with Zion to "low ball" us "to death". They don't want Scoot and Dame... they'll just want to get the piece that they have been wanting for a fair price. They've already negotiated with us in good faith as recently as a year and a half ago. So if we want Zion and we should, that deal should be available to us at a reasonable price. I think both our GM and the Pels' have shown they just want to do what's best for their team and don't feel the need to dominate their opponent in a trade.

yes...Zion is PP until the end of this season, which basically is just after the draft. Once the new season starts, Zion just has a standard contract

the one monkeywrench in this plan is Charlotte effectively picking Miller over Zion. What's stopping them from realizing Zion is available, and just completing that move to allow the Pels to grab Scoot at 2?

Yeah you love to moralize what these players do, I get it.

I'm not trying to bring politics into this but it would be really strange if you were a Trump supporter (has a bunch of drama with a porn star) and then gave a shit about what Zion does in his private life (has a bunch of drama with a porn star and isn't married).

Blazers don't have enough salary to make that work.

    PG13 ($45.6m) + Zion ($33.5) = $79.1m / 1.25 = $63.28m minimum outgoing salary required.

    Ant ($24.1m) + Nurk ($16.9) + Little ($6.2m) + Knox ($3.0m) + Keon ($2.8) + Watford ($1.9) + Walker ($1.8) = $56.6m in available salary

Only possible way would be to include Grant in a S&T

The reporting is that they don't want anything to do with Zion.

yes i know. i proposed adding Scoot's contract and even Reddish as a S&T and completing the transaction a month later when the pick is eligible to be traded.

I also do want to caution Woj's claims of Miller going 2 being a smokescreen.

This was Woj 11 hrs before the draft last year.

If you're asking if them moving from Scoot to Miller means that Zion wasn't on the table for Scoot, that might be a good point but by so many accounts they have decided to take Miller. A lot can change in a little less than 48 hours but that seems to be pretty solid right now. Also even if they had the opportunity to get Zion it doesn't mean they would be comfortable with it. They don't have a leader like we do. They are basically his home town which doesn't usually help a player turn over a new leaf and there is a lot of noise that they might be bringing Miles Bridges back who does similar things to Zion.

A lot of uncertainty still but also remember that there isn't a shortage of teams interested in Scoot. NOLA and Zion is just my favorite scenario but not the only one that gets me amped up for next season.

Yeah like I said a lot can change in 44 hours but the Hornets had been reported to be about Brandon Miller for a long time and then those reports took a detour for a day and a half. I think Miller to Charlotte at 2 is very likely.

Lillard is one of the best “character” guys in the league—universally admired for the way he conducts himself, and for his strong family values. Why would we want to pair him with a sex addict who is fucking three pornstars at the same time, and has gotten one of them pregnant?

My understanding is that only one of them is a porn star and the others are just women he dates and the reason you might want to pair one young all star who struggles with some things with the NBA superstar with the reputation for having the best character in the game seems so fucking obvious I don't understand why I'm having to explain it but maybe it's because this pillar of the community who is Dame Lillard could help a young man with so much promise who is struggling to make mature decisions.

Sometimes interacting with you makes me feel like I need a shower. So judgmental and unforgiving of people you know so very little about.

Come on man, he is 22… what would you do at that age if you had all the money in the world? People change… a better environment may help him mature.

This is sleazy bullshit Youtube. Zion isn't the first pro athlete to have relations with a bunch of different women including porn stars. People need to get the fuck over this... it will blow over. This isn't Miles Bridges assaulting a woman it's a young superstar who just needs to pump his breaks. A change of scenery and a child really might do Zion a lot of good in his personal life which is none of our fucking business.

It could be that Charlotte checked with Zion and he told them he didn’t want to play for them so last thing want to do is trade for a disgruntled Zion.

no way any team trades for Zion without knowing whether he wants to go there.

To realistically contend for a title next year, we need to add two significant pieces to our starting lineup. Most likely SF/PF and C.

So to make that work, we need to be able to turn #3 and filler into one such player, and then whatever we have left into the second player.

Grant is, to me, at best a 3rd or 4th option on offense. Sharpe very well could be a first or second option, but I'm not sure if he's ready yet for that kind of responsibility. So we need to draft a solid #2. Siakam fits the bill, but he's in his last year. I'd trade Nurk/filler for him and include some future picks but there's no way in hell I'm giving them 3. Zion is by far the biggest bang/bust. George is another guy that I would trade filler and future picks, but no chance I'm giving them #3. No. Chance.

I'm not saying that we will land Zion but having Dame is such a huge benefit. The guy is so respected by players in this league and that just makes some situations that might be complicated for some teams much less complicated for ours. There is no pecking order/leadership on the Hornets roster. Zion would be going from one situation to a very similar situation... just a helluva lot closer to his hometown and hey unlike us who need win now pieces maybe long term MJ just likes Miller's upside more than he likes Zion's inconsistency.
