I know this is a bit early, but I'm trying to see what our roster will look like if we're really adding 3 rookies. I'm assuming we only re-sign Grant and Matisse. Dame Ant Shaedon Grant Nurk Matisse Watford Walker Keon Little Scoot Murray Rupert That is 13 already. I know they like Badji, but I think he can stay a 2-way player for one more year. No backup center, no starting small forward. And yes I know trades can happen, but look at that team and there is literally only 4 veterans: Dame/Grant/Matisse/Nurk. I mean, what the hell?
I added Eubanks and Mays. Dame Scoot Mays Ant Matisse Keon Sharpe Little Murray Rupert Grant Watford Walker Nurk Eubanks We also have the MLE, I'd probably target Naz Reid. I'd consider throwing Meyers Leonard the vet minimum.
The late 90s? I remember the Roy/LMA team had no bench. The 2019 team was pretty balanced. Just unhealthy.
We might want to merge these threads. Here's the tread where I've posted the existing roster and options moving forward - 2023-24 Roster. Who stays? Who goes? | SportsTwo Here's my latest snapshot of the roster: I'm assuming they're planning on bringing Grant Back. I'd like to see Eubanks back as a backup. Beyond that, use the other players as trade filler to bring in at least one more starter.
I'd like to see Eubank back too but I'm hoping we have Naz Reid as the main backup and Eubanks as third string. With Nurks injuries 3rd string is actually a significant minute backup. If we can't get an MLE center at least get a Meyers Leonard or something for the vet minimum. I don't want to see Eubanks starting with Watford as the only backup "center"
What happened to Mays? He was awesome at the end of last season but I never see him listed - did he sign elsewhere?
Keon salary is already guaranteed for 2023-24 - they have until October to guarantee his 2024-25 salary.
Blazers measured Scoot as 6'2.5" barefoot - so that's the same as Dion Waiters who was listed as 6'4" Dame only measured 6'1.75" barefoot - so he certainly shouldn't be listed an inch taller than Scoot.
