I agree on keeping the thread about FA's however the idea of landing Draymond, Siakam or OG is about landing a FA. Yeah i don't like the Dame's leaving stuff either in every thread.
For fucks sake. The title of the article i linked to is called "free agency notes." Dame leaving is completely intertwined into FA. Sheesh.
Siakam and OG would be trades. Siakam's not a free agent until after 23-24. Correct? Clearly, though, that link wasn't presented as being about the free agent situation. It was presented about Dame leaving. Same as every thread here. And it's the same people taking every thread to that topic when there are threads specifically about that topic. I don't think you want to waltz into this thread in 3 hours looking for more free agent gossip or ideas and see the last two pages have become pearl clutching about Dame and the way the team has treated him and what pundits are saying anymore than I want that. That said, I don't want to be guilty of taking the thread off-topic after just complaining about that. If everyone else is cool with it, I said my piece.
Amick has been around a long time. He's a veteran. Doesn't necessarily mean he's not full of crap, but he's not some random twitter "journalist" or something like that.

i've been beating this dead horse going on like 3 yrs now, but Cam Johnson has to be a target. he's a RFA, and we have history with the Nets and poison pill offers. But this guy's advanced metrics are so consistently high on both ends of the floor. he's not a great rebounder but he does everything else well, and I feel like he is ripe for an increase in usage. really wish there was a way to get him. might even consider a S&T for Ant if nothing better comes up.

This is a target according to @hoopsjock. Also I don't want to tie @hoopsjock name to this but he's saying based on the meeting there are conditions to Dame staying: 1.) Re-sign Jerami, apparently this is not a done deal because Jerami doesn't want to be here if Dame isn't. 2.) Get another "big" name. Doesn't necessarily have to be a star. 2 biggest names are Green and Cam Johnson. 3.) No more ducking the tax or making moves just to get out of tax. Stop being cheap. Also said Cronin and FO went into the meeting with Dame trying to convince him to do it their way, ie. rebuild young is better than loading up on vets. I dunno if any of this is true. If it is, I'd be frustrated as well as Dame.
Maybe in theory... but theres a lot of risk in that. 1) this FA class sucks. Have you looked at it? Not really the year to go FA hunting. 2) When has Portland ever been able to snag a premier FA I could go on, but those 2 points should be sufficient to discourage your line of thinking
How many games does this team win? Dame Sharpe Cam Grant Ayton with Scoot, Matisse and a bunch of minimums off the bench?
dame -- 46 sharpe -- 6 cam -- 22 grant -- 30 ayton -- 32 scoot -- 10 thybulle -- 8 ~154 mil for 7 players that leaves about 10 mil for 5-6 more players before hitting the apron to fill with minimum deals. hardcapping might not be an issue.
