Usually when I explain why I don’t agree, that’s when I get the insults lol.

I think our society has been so conditioned to surround ourselves with people who agree with us politically or religiously etc and then we get on here and people don’t know how to respectfully disagree with someone. I did debate in college. I can argue any side to any argument. It’s about understanding why someone thinks the way they do.

It’s just funny to me how people are blind to some things but annoyed by others.

Someone posts a million variations of “Dame isn’t leaving” and they upvote that post every time.

Someone posts a Dame quote multiple times or shares reasons why they think Dame might leave multiple times, it’s annoying and repetitive.

Funny enough, I don’t get annoyed at people for their opinions on the team. If it’s something I don’t value I will skip over it or if it’s something I feel strongly enough about, I will post a response trying to refute it.

 

Sometimes people give up and just fight fire with fire.
For example: i have mentioned to a specific poster several times in a friendly manner that he is being overbearing, and the response was basically a middle finger.
At that point one gets tired of being nice in the face of such selfish responses and the gloves come off.
There is a specific poster who never acts as if he does anything wrong but yet will not listen to anyone who tries to let him know the issue is he lives on this board and takes every conversation over.
When someone doesn't at least TRY to recognize the other side, when being pointed out in a non insulting fashion, i personally no longer give a shit if i take the gloves off.

If someone can not recognize they are being annoying as hell in the face of multiple people saying as such, then that person no longer deserves respect.
Respect is indeed a two way street and when a specific poster openly says he doesn't give a shit about others’ opinions but then clamors about how others are toxic, its a huge double standard and that person deserves every bit of stinky shit tossed at them until they understand what a two way respect relationship is.

in other words, when one person says he doesn't give a shit about my opinion, while spending all day and night trying to push his opinion on others, i no longer give a shit about being respectful. Especially when same dude is bitching a lbout the lack of respect he gets.

it really is ridiculous….and the fucked up thing is i like the guy overall. Just wish he would not be such a selfish ahole when it comes to others letting him know his nonstop posting is/can be annoying.

Respect starts with taking heed to others’ opinions and this guy does not do that at all.

I could go on and on about the childlike ignoring comments he makes but then doesnt ignore, etc, but its futile.
In his eyes his shit smells like roses.

But if you want a more vibrant, respectful forum, it starts with that dude taking a step back and recognizing his own daily behavior can be/is annoying to many posters.
Since he posts so often in every thread, ignoring him would make it confusing to read threads.

If only this guy gave the respect he says he should have, this would be a much better place overall.

One thing I have never understood in almost 3 decades of sports posting.....
....mods (I have been one many times on several boards) will usually ban someone who is a fan of another team who is there to ridicule, berate, and otherwise put down our team. But if you are under the guise of being a fan of that team, it becomes a "tolerable opinion". No, this is not directed at this group of mods, just an observation of many years of posting.

This is my team. I defend it. I defend it against those wearing Blazer colors, as easily as I do those who wear another teams colors. Those who continuously tear down the image of my team and who say they are a fan of my team, are by far the most irritating. But thank goodness I can use the ignore button. Well.......I can't use it on everyone
