To think, the GM drafted the best player available.

Drafting Scoot had nothing to do with Dame. We're trying to increase the level of talent on this team and we weren't getting commensurate talent offers for the #3 pick.

I couldn't stand Ainge. And didn't think he did much when he was here. But he was instrumental in the winning of Game 2 of the '92 Finals. Trade us Markkanen and i will have a much higher feeling about him.

I understand that. But we shall see if they add the top end wing talent that's said to be in the plan. If they do, i will sing Joe's praises as well. I just want him to keep his word.

It would be quite incredible if the Blazers lucked out with the #3 pick due to input from the #3 pick the Blazers passed on in 1984. Jordan and the Hornets seemingly going with size and fit over talent, just like the Blazers did.

Yeah its very rare to trade picks at the top of the draft. The team trading away is scared of the risk the prospect becomes a star, the team acquiring the player is scared of the risk the player becomes a bust. It was kind of insane so many fans had such high expectations the pick would be dealt for a great starting level player.

Now the Blazers certainly fed into expectations with their comments, and even Dame to some extent.

But the Blazers have a real duty to maximize the value of all their assets. Selecting BPA wasn't a knock on Dame, it was the most reasonable, most likely outcome, that we've seen over many decades of successful teams having the #3 pick.

The front office knows that having rotation players on rookie deals allows you to spend big bucks on players like Grant and Green...Green is going to get 40+ million and Grant probably 30 which would be all we could do with the CBA. We made a qualifying offer to Thybulle today..we still have a MLE to sign a backup center. We're more than likely going to be a luxury tax team this season if they are going to try to win now.

Draymond could also be doing this dinner date with Dame to get more from GS as well.

It doesn’t sound like we have much ammo to go after a wing. If teams don’t want Ant we are kinda sunk. But if we can get Draymond that would be good.
