I am surprised that Clarkson opted into his final year at 14 mil. I thought he would opt out for sure

Until we actually see him play, I am not convinced he exists.

I heard the Badji before injury was bottling up Nurk in practice and impressed the coaching staff.....they said Keon was lighting up practice too so who knows but I'm excited to see what our Senegalese big man has to offer in summer league. We need a banger in the post. Who knows? He might be the next Draymond!

Probably shows the changing market place.

Clarkson is taking the $14M instead of FA.
Clippers chose to cut Eric Gordon instead of paying him $20M.

The no defense, microwave guard doesn't have as much value as they use to.... (aka - Simons)

Gary Trent Jr realized through his agent that he was better off opting in in Toronto than free agency...a lot of these guys are going to get the vet's minimum in their next contract. New CBA has teams rethinking where they put the big bucks.

He might be the next Randall Stephens.

Clipper cut EG because he would cost them $110m in tax, it is not an indication that a small, scoring guard is not worth $20m

if that 'small scoring guard' is a solid starter, he may be worth that kind of money. Being a no-defense small scoring guard is a lot more questionable

I think the value of small guards like Powell, Gordon, Poole, & Simons has dropped dramatically with the advent of the new CBA. Same for Tyler Herro although he isn't as small. Simons at 26M/year is a problem if the Blazers are trying to shop him
