    Ya.....gonna disagree with that completely. Maybe to the Lakers or the Knickerbockers. Portland has to draft well, and continuously.

    I was specific as to certain players. The always injured players listed below;

    "I'm against mortgaging the future for the always injured and aging George, Leonard or Zion. They are boat anchors for their teams. Plus those huge contracts are a problem with the new CBA. If we were to trade for one of these wings it makes Grant unnecessary as he is not a four."

    I am also being specific when I iterate that I want nothing to do with Grant being the 4. If they bring in a 3 that is not always injured and it makes Grant redundant then just let Grant walk. If they want to keep Grant, go get a 4 that can defend and rebound. Same goes for the ridiculous contract of LaVine and the old DDR. Just no. Get a player at a position of need, such as the 4 or 5. They do not have to make $30+ mil. I am curious to see Murray in Summer League. Can he defend and rebound? if he performs half as well as his brother did as a rookie he will be useful right away.

    The Blazers did this last season with Grant. He is a 3, not a 4. If Grant starts as the 4 Portland will be a play in team. Can't rebound. Better hope to shoot 60% all season.

    Jerami Grant has played for a few coaches on a lot of different rosters. Not once has he played the majority of his minutes at SF. Three of the seasons he played more minutes at center than he did at small forward.

    While it is posisble that a handful of coaches (including NBA champ, Mike Malone) with different rosters all mis-judged him as a PF, I'm going to assume there is a good reason for it.

    I've wondered if they should increase the salaries for 1st round picks to bring their overall value down.

    Malone may have played him as a 4 in the past, but today Grant plays as a 3. He likes the 3 pt line and does not rebound and I do not believe he can defend either position, but that is most players in the NBA today. But I will certainly watch the attempt to make him a rebounding and defending four. Just don't want to hear how another year of Dames prime has been wasted. All good. I will watch, for a while.

    Good insight, thanks. Yeah I never understood this Grant at SF talk. I mean if we have a super mobile PF that can guard in space and spread the floor sure that duo with Grant could be good. But then I'd really say effectively that other player is doing the SF duties and Grant is still a PF.

    Grant is a PF defensively, he doesn't have the quickness or screen navigation to be a SF. Its true he can't rebound like a PF, or heck even rebound like a small wing, but that's just why he is a less than ideal player.

    I understand you think he plays as a 3, but I'm not sure the reasons you give really translate. If he doesn't rebound, they doesn't make him a 3 over a 4. If he can't defend either position (which I disagree with) that doesn't make him a 3 over and 4.

    Here are his splits by position, so you don't have to waste too much time watching.

    Grant isn’t worth 30 per no matter what position he plays.
