    Blazers don't have any cap space to give an offer. Yeah it would be funny if Sacramento/Detroir/SAS/Hou etc did that. Herb is awesome.

    Pelicans can match any offer just like the Lakers with Austin Reves. Yeah the salary breakdown over multiple years could be wonky if they dont have the space to match this year, something like 10 mil 10 mil 30 mil 30 mil.

    False, Herb Jones would've been an UFA next summer. Houston had this issue with Chandler Parsons then declined to match his Dallas offer.

    Dallas later used the cheap season with Brunson then he left the next year in UFA. Teams can screw this up either way.

    Max Pelicans can offer Jones is 4 years $53 million. Other teams can offer more (I believe 4 years $100 million or something) and Pelicans can then match that but they will get a funky contract that goes from 10 million next year to 25 million or more the latter seasons.

    I mean yeah Sharpe can swing to forward, I just thought that would be SF not PF, and Simons can swing up a position, which I assume was from PG to SG - not SG to SF. I didn't realize this is how we are rolling with the quad guard lineup. Somewhere Neil Olshey is smiling in approval.

    I'm not sure that article is accurate:

    next season would have been his 3rd season. He was a 2nd round pick and the Pelicans signed him to a 3 year deal. So they used an exception. I thought that made him restricted after his 3rd season

    First thing will be to sign Jerami Grant. But I can't get too excited about paying $30,000,000 to a PF who is in a 10-way tied for 133rd in the league for rebounding. Yuck.

    Dunk highlight videos, like three point makes videos, are generally worthless and boring. However I did see two positives: Dude jumps high, and he plays with fire. If he is the reason we released Trendon, in Schmidt I trust.

    Isn't that Larry Coons FAQ? Thats just a summary of the CBA, its not authoritive or encompassing of 100% of situations.

    I haven't heard any report that he would be a RFA next summer, there is an article he would be an UFA next summer, and the Pelicans actions would make much more sense if he was going to be an UFA next summer. All signs strongly point to him only being a RFA this summer and UFA next summer. But I would be happy to see evidence to the contrary.
