While this is partially my perspective, and I certainly voiced my hesitancy when Dame received his massive contract... Part of that is having management that makes moves to put talent around a player that has amazing personal stats. It hasn't worked for Luka and Kyrie, but at least they got him Kyrie. When a team gets LeBron, they don't surround him with a bunch of rookies and young guns. In fact, the Lakers arguably gave away too much in order to put a decent team around LeBron, and they won a championship for it. Mickey Mouse or not, I bet Blazers fans would've been celebrating it. So yes, I want a team that accomplishes more, but it's hard to see how that happens if we refuse to take any risks.
Not disputing that those moves failed, but that doesn't change the fact that we tried to do that for Dame, which the post I quoted seemed to imply we didn't. The sad thing is that some of the resources we gave up in those deals would have been veteran contributors by now, the very thing Dame wanted.
I might get ignored by a lot of people for this but I don't trust people who loudly proclaim they are something; it usually means they're projecting. Dame talks about loyalty very loudly and very proudly, but I personally feel like he's always been about Dame.
if true, two things: 1) whoever it was earlier who said Dame waited till his friend Grant got paid before asking for a trade can go pound sand 2) signing Grant to that deal makes no fucking sense unless it turns into a S&T. If it doesn't...wtf?
I can't put my thoughts down yet. Shock and dismay. Not gonna dog Dame nor the Brass other than all of the above are completely full of utter shit.
You asked....the Chinese cultural revolution also celebrated book burning....have fun in Florida...I won't spend a penny in that state. Wouldn't raise children there for any reason. Moving on.
Ah we’ve reached the online e-peen waving stage of grief about places that are better to live and political drivel. Death and taxes.
So your argument is the Blazers should have done the same thing for Dame they'd been doing for Dame for years that already was failing? To each their own. Seems like the definition of insanity to me.
Good to see people flock to be opposed and those same people are okay with others being oppressed. Still doesn't make it right.
A bunch of people are out of touch partisans who don't realize the parties reversed in terms of who is doing the direct bidding of transnational corporations, Big Pharma, Big Military Industrial Complex, the Banks and the Intelligence agencies. You know, stuff the Left used to correctly be against. People are caught up acting like we needed a redo of the 1960's and don't see who's bank rolling all the CEI/DEI stuff. It's Davos WEF folks and it's NOT to help People of color or LGBTQ+ it's to take EVERYONE's property. Don't believe me, listen to the WEF's own word's "In 2030, you will OWN NOTHING. And you will be happy." They definitely mean the first part. Look at what's happening to Dutch farmers and Canadian farmers. People need to look at proposals all over Europe in Germany and Ireland for two examples of proposals to seize properties. If you watch what's happening in Europe you will get a preview of what is coming here.
