Simmons is the type of situation I’d take a flyer on, but it’s the wrong player. Ball needs to be in Scoot and Shaedon hands.

Make the Nets take Duncan Robinson and we get Royce instead.

The Blazers get Duncan Robinson, Lauri Markkanen, Kelly Olynyk, Nikola Jovic, 24 and 26 fist round picks

Jazz get Tylor Hero, Jusuf Nurkic and Nassir Little.

    Heat get Dame Lillard

Do we have proof Dame has vetoed a Nets trade? I don’t think he has a trade clause in his contract. When he asked for a trade he cashed in his loyalty card. We are under no obligation to trade Dame to the Heat and get fleeced.

Shaedon didn't really seem bothered by Dame leaving.

Oh and Simmons is mostly just a monster expiring and required for the Nets to be able to take Herro, but he could play point forward as a facilitator not the primary ball handler. If he makes us lose thats fine as long as it doesn’t stymie the growth of Scoot and Sharpe. So just bring him off the bench if need be, or just bench him and let him turn into am expiring next year and shop him for a first.

Dame wanted to play with Bridges. Seems like a good idea to me.

Utah isn't trading Markannen for Herro, why would they trade a better big, for a lesser SG? Nurk is a favor to us, and Little unfortunately has marginal value.

what I think of that trade is that Fanspo (if that's where it's from) has some real bad data

    start with the picks:

    * Miami does not have a 2026 pick to trade. The first pick they can trade is their 2028 1st

    * Brooklyn does not own the 2028 Phoenix first; they own 2025, 2027, 2029

as to the rest...there's no way the Blazers take on Ben Simmons AND Robinson. Robinson isn't necessary for salary matching and he's a negative asset from Portland's POV. Delete him

and I have an extremely hard time seeing the Nets willing to trade two first round picks for Herro. I guess maybe if they get to dump Simmons they might

finally, ...Miami is getting Dame cheap as hell in this trade...way too cheap. At minimum they need to send Caleb Martin and 3 or 4 second round picks to Portland. And fuck Pat Riley for hurrying to get Jaquez signed. If Cronin had balls he'd force Miami to wait the 30 days and then add Jaquez to the deal. And the Blazers get the option to swap 2029 first's

by the way, Robinson is 29 years old

I actually like this one a lot better, we get more young talent this way by scooping up the Nets picks from this year, I didn't realize Duncan Robinson was 27. Plus these guys are wings or bigs.

Highkin thinks this will drag out at least a month. Maybe 2.

It could be interesting to play Simmons at Center with this group

Highkin also mentioned that Kawhi Leonard didn't want to go to Toronto and he wanted to go to the Lakers. The Spurs basically told him to pound sand and found the best deal they could.

I wouldn't trade for him unless he was clear that he's not the point guard.
