They won't get Dame for nothing. If Dame is not demanding Miami, they probably won't get Dame at all.
Orlando did well when they traded Valenciunas. They got a young center (Wendell Carter Jr.) and two good draft picks because Chicago missed the playoffs those years.
If relevant means a 21-36 Playoff record. That is an average of 1.9 Playoff wins per year. Relevancy doesn't sound so great.
Hold up. Has anyone given thought to the notion that perhaps the tipping point to dame leaving was @Ed O making that petition?
Yeah like.... We were relevant when we won the damn championship. We were relevant when we went to the finals. Sooooo.
Not gonna lie, I was having nightmares last night about a way-too-soon dame deal. Then I woke up and realized I'm in my mom's basement and now I'm doubly depressed.
He said Philly won't trade Maxey in his opinion. And the clippers only have like one pick and salaries, not really young talented assets to move.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and feelings. Mine is that Dame didn't mislead anyone and he was very transparent in what he wanted. I simply think Joe way oversold the idea that we are going to go all in on Dame we want him to retire a blazer. Dame mad it very clear what his path would be, Joe's the one that tried to threat the needle and was wishy washy with some of his comments about getting older and taller and keeping & having Dame retire here. He could have simply said we'd rather go younger now with a new direction, and we will not mortgage our future. No, he said our intentions are to keep Dame Lillard a Blazer. If you dont see this as Cronin failing somewhat, at least dont put it on Dame as being wishy washy?
I have haven't seem evidence yet and I may have missed it, that Dame is on Record stating only one team. I can see him having preference but usually there are a 2/3 acceptable destinations presented by a player.
there is only one tweet by Amick that Dame told Cronin he's only play for one team. Almost positive it was bullshit
What makes it strange is we haven't heard his list by now. That's what honestly is giving it more credence.
Disagree. This is just the beginning. These things usually take more time and we have a front office prone to unforced bad decisions. Imagine where this goes when agents start pushing harder, Dame gets pissy more publicly and voices in management start again with the same old bullshit of "buying good will with agents and having a good reputation amongst players in the league". To be clear: For me, Miami draft picks and Herro are nothing.
I don't actually think there is even one tweet from Amick. There are other reporters that have tweeted that according to Amick it's Miami or bust for Dame but in Amicks article that they are referring to he says that Miami is the preferred destination for Dame but Brooklyn is another place on his list. He does state that right now for Miami it's Dame or bust. You can look through his tweets and if you have The Athletic you can read the article. You'll never find him saying that Dame will only play for one team... unless I'm missing something.
