Herro defense stats was a lot better then Simons while Simon started Stats was barely better then herro. Herro per was better then Simons so I rather have Herro then I would Simons.
The day I no longer have to think about making a market for a volume-shooting, below-average defense guard will be a great day. With Herro, I think that is squarely a Goodwin/Riley concern.
Really makes you wonder where, exactly, the wildly varying rumors of Herro's value in trades is coming from (okay, wonder might be too strong of a word...) If its true that teams are wanting to be paid to take him -- and his upcoming contract is pretty ludicrous, that has the potential to make this thing a non-starter, especially as Joe is given more and more time to shop Dame deals elsewhere...
"We'd love to help facilitate this trade. We'll take 2 seconds for taking on Herro and will send you back this expiring guy. Love being a facilitator for you.
Sell-low Joe or Stay-firm Joe? What say you? There are obviously better packages than what Miami is offering. If we send him there, it's yet another Cronin move where he prioritized the player's wishes rather than the return to better the franchise.
Now some of you want to turn on Ant like some turned on Dame -- some of you fans are disgusting so fair weather it makes me sick. I will concede it possible Ant is overrated but let's see him this season since he will be the alpha maybe co-alpha while scoot is learning the NBA ropes then we can judge him.
I'd say the fact that Miami made it to the NBA finals without Herro probably crushed a lot of his value
Yep. There's the rub... The Heat believe Herro has at least solid value. The Blazers want that value, but don't want Herro for obvious reasons. Other teams seem to be interested in Herro, but are apparently not interested in providing any significant value in return. Honestly, it's why I would imagine Ben Simmons-like scenarios are more likely if it's going to happen. Would you pay two firsts to swap (enter really bad contract here) for Herro? Maybe... do I expect a team to give significant value (i.e. 1st-round picks) for Herro alone? No way.
just what is needed...another nothing-burger tweet. I read it as: 'team's are lining up to see if they can steal value from Portland in a a Lillard trade'
My guess is he's really uncomfortable with all of this but it's at the point of no return. Prob figured the fans would all have his back. Dames crew started tarnishing and throwing shade at brass long before Brass did the same, if at all. He's making his own bed. His future. At this point, i doubt we ever see him back in Portland, even after his career.
I've had 5 years of watching Ant. I think that is plenty of time to judge him fairly. He can get hot shooting offensively, but the rest of his game has huge holes in it. I haven't seen enough growth and development to think he's going to become decent in those other areas.
I'd love a collection of 4 or 5 future first's with no protection....but I'm growing very pessimistic that will happen what I expect: Dame (and maybe Nurkic) for Simmons, O'Neal, Jovic + Miami's 2028 & 2030 first's and a 2029 swap...and, one first round pick from Brooklyn
If we don't get JJJ and Martin, I'm going to be pissed. They're already sending us a steaming pile of shit.
There's a lot of pessimistic posts like this -- not just from you -- on the board... I'm curious what indications are you seeing that make you think we'll accept so little? Or is it juts purely because Joe's taken lesser deals in his other trades? To me, the longer this drags out, the better it is for our package. And by most accounts, it doesn't seem like anything's getting finalized anytime soon...
I don’t think we get Martin but not getting Jaquez is stupid. Least I take in a 3 way with Mia/Bky is… Jaquez/Jovic/Simmons/2 1s ea(4 total)
