Brown would never agree to a S&T....he'd lose millions. And it wouldn't be a S&T because he's still under contract. It would be an extend & trade and it would be limited to 2 years

The same teams willing to give up firsts for Herro would presumably give up firsts for Ant who is like the same player on a better contract.

I've been thinking of 3 and 4 team scenarios with Boston, but this could make sense.

    To POR:
    - Jaylen Brown
    - Jarrett Allen

    To BOS:
    - Dame

    To CLE:
    - First from SA
    - Brogdan
    - Nas

    To SAS:
    - Simons
    - Nurk

We'd clear a shitton of salary while ending up with:

    Scoot
    Sharpe
    Brown
    Grant
    Allen

Great foundation to build on and JB would prolly extend with us.

Brown ain't staying to rebuild in Portland. Sending him to Houston for their lottery talent is the way to go. Two of Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith and Tari Eason.

What complicates it is Brown being repped by the same agent as Dame.

Why do you assume the lineup i proposed would be worse than Houston? Brown would take the most money offered to him. We would be that team in FA.

He's spent time in Houston and Udoka is there. Won't he be unrestricted? I'd rather send him to another team than to deal with that uncertainty.

We would be able to offer him a 5 yr supermax with our bird rights. Very few teams will have that kind of caspace. Him leaving $ on the table is a stretch.

The only advantage a team who trades for Brown has in free agency is that they'll have his bird rights. As soon as he is traded everyone can offer him the same money, other teams would just have to have the cap space for it. Not worth the gamble in my opinion.

Do we want to pay him that much?

Our only large contracts would be Brown and Grant. We'd have at least two other starters on rookie scale deals for 3 more seasons. Not that restrictive.

The only team that can offer him the supermax is Boston, NO other team, and it appears Boston does not want to pay that and Tatum is due his supermax next summer which he will likely get. So Browm may be odd man out. And there is no supermax sign and trade

If I had to keep Brown, I'd rather roll the dice on him signing than take Jovic, Jaquez and other garbage.

It's only max capspace because if he gets traded he won't have been with his new team for two years which disqualifies him for the supermax. How many teams do I think would make room to sign Jaylen Brown to a max contract? A helluva lot.

I like Brown just not convinced he’s a super max type of player. But would like to have him on team :)

    Saying this for years
If Goodwin didn't accept a better deal from Portland because he was butthurt over the Blazers' ending with Dame, he'd lose clients. He's representing Brown's best interests here, not Dame's if he's negotiating a Brown deal with the Vulcans.

Yes, agents, GMs and players are people, but if you're constantly holding grudges and letting situations erupt, you're going to have a hard time being at the top. To think Goodwin wouldn't make the best deal for Brown with Portland because of Dame would mean Goodwin wasn't doing the best for his client, had lost sight of his goal and compromised his professionalism. He's not going to do that. People are overstating the longterm effects of Dame being unhappy.

I drove from LA to NYC many years ago. We stopped at a lot of cool places too. Vegas, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, Chicago, Cleveland (where I signed autographs at a Blockbuster), and Foxwoods. Fun trip.

It's all pointless to discuss because we won't be able to offer Brown more than any other team. He will only be eligible for the regular max and not the super max because he won't have been with the team for the requisite two seasons. I think there would be too many teams willing to clear space to sign him to a max deal for us to take this gamble.
