I think all of us agree with that, but even with the haul other stars have fetched, we’re any of them close to fair value?
the history of teams trading their franchise player AFTER he demands a trade is that they have been lucky to get 50 cents on the dollar. Dame is 6'2 and 33 years old. 50 cents my be a pipedream
Bkn did well with Durant. WAS with Wall was pretty light. Harden every time has been pretty good. George from OKC to LAC (slightly different). NOP with AD. I’m pretty happy with the mean or median of all of those … that’s not even counting the Vucevices, Goberts, Murrays,
what you have listed there is essentially a reduced market for superstars. Several teams have already sold off the type of assets Portland wants for Dame. And I get an impression that Brooklyn really isn't that interested in Dame, and has minimal interest in Herro. Maybe, some team will ship out a first for Herro but it will almost certainly have protections I remain pessimistic about the level of return the Blazers will get for Dame. All this chatter about 5-6 first round picks/swaps and young prospects looks like wishful thinking to me.
We better get Jovic and Jaquez in this. If we don’t get that at least this is complete bullshit. Didn’t the commish veto Paul to the LAL for poor compensation?
I think the longer this goes on the more the National media jump in and say it's going to take awhile and Dame needs to open up other destinations
At the time the Commish was the care-taker of the New Orleans franchise. That's not the case for Portland's franchise now. There is no chance he will block any kind of legal trade done under the CBA.
Yeah it's not going to mesh with those ads on TV highlighting what an outlier/rogue Dame is. He is demanding a trade to a single superteam. Seems quite diva-like to me. Just like KD, Harden, Kyrie etc.
Blazers must do right by Dame. If they send him where he doesn’t want be he will not go into HOF as a Blazer and forget about any statue or him wanting to live here in iff season. Miami with Spo is where he needs to go. They have enough to give us a decent deal. Thanks again Dame!
If we don’t get a haul worth a damn for him will it be back to the old, “our fan base just overvalued him all along” schtick like when we got an awful return for CJ? If we would’ve just shopped him mid season last year, I think we could’ve gotten way more value. Trading in the NBA is all about leverage.
I don’t agree one bit. Cronin needs to do what’s best for the team and its future. His career as a GM is on the line. While Lillard was an awesome Blazer, one of my faves. The Blazers winning means more than a statue or him living here in the offseason. We’re acting like he won a title here or something. Oh, also, this damn sell of the team needs to go down ASAP
it was a good return for CJ, not awful. The problem was how grossly overrated CJ's value was in sections of Blazer Nation
There's nothing that doesn't say we can't wait until the trade deadline this season. Tell him to prove his value. If he plays like he's capable, he'll up his value. Teams at the TD tend to be more flexible as they realize whether things are working or not.
Nobody but Heat fans think MIA has a decent deal. You realize don’t you if Riley were in Joe’s shoes he would take the best possible deal. Pat let Lebron walk when we wanted Spo gone. He refused the demand of the Goat. Joe is well within his job duty to get the best deal.
No sir....I really believe we need to do right by Dame. Im sure we will end up with a decent pkg... Joe could have prevented this from happening, he's just too naive still when it comes to making trades. He is playing to his strengths which is young players and cap. Thats cool....buy I'd like top see Dame end up where he'd like if its within reason.
